I just ordered a GVG to vape from, but can not find a detailed explanation of how to use it? Do I just put the screen in and sprinkle the DMT on the screen? Or do I need to make changa? Or I read something about getting a liquid ceramic something? Please help! How do I use the lighter properly? Any recommended torch lighters. I did a search through the forums & could not find detailed answers.

I just put the spice on top of the ceramic filter. When the heat gets near it all melts into the filter and then vaporises out. Seems easiest to me and gives a good old hit. If the filter gets a bit scummy after a while take it out and hit it with a blowtorch and it will be good as new.

So when you say you sprinkle spice directly on to the ceramic, Randomness, is that the ceramic filter that comes with the gvg? (I've seen mention of another one which can be ordered separately from a different website)

Another idea I had was to put a peppermint bed on top of a couple of screens, sprinkle spice on top of the peppermint and then vape. I guess you'd have a pleasant peppermint flavour to go with? Personally, I really like the smell/flavour of the spice itself, so if I can do without the peppermint I would...any advice folks?

I would advise against this as it is not the proper way to use the GVG and would probably substantially decrease the effectiveness of having a "heat filter".

The "correct" way according to the manufacture is to put the product in underneath the top part where the ceramic heat filter is. Many people on the site have used a ceramic "flavor" disc (not unlike the one used in the top of the GVG to regulate heat) to put product like pure spice on. This disc can then be put underneath the filter top that comes with the GVG, rested on some screens.

The company that sells the GVG now also sells a stainless steel pad/disc that can be used in the same way, underneath the filter/top of the GVG.

When using the GVG correctly, the top filter works by regulating the heat, so that you don't get too hot or direct flame on your product. With the product sitting on, or melted into the disc/pad you have sitting underneath the filter/top, you don't have to worry about overheating your product. You can just add as much heat as possible to the top and inhale, allowing for a very efficient and fairly fool proof vaporization method.

I pre melt because it's easier to handle. I place the pad on my scale along with the 10g weight. Don't tare the scale because it won't register weights below 15mg. Start adding the dose on top of the pad. Weigh my dose then use a pair of tweezers to carefully lift the pad from the scale with the dose on top. Take my lighter and light it about a foot under the pad. Once i see it melt take the flame away and allow the dose to melt into the pad. Another way to melt is to place the loaded pad on top of a piece of foil and indirectly melt by heating the foil. Another way is to dump the pre measured dose onto a heated pad either in or out of the GVG. Now i have a pre loaded pad i can use now or later.

If I'm loading more than 30mg i divide the dose and melt incrementally because it won't all fit on the pad.

One more thing. Pre melting gives you a good idea of how little heat it actually takes to vaporize spice. A little goes a long way so it doesn't matter what type of lighter you use. Once your heat filter glows red move the flame away to reduce the heat. Take one more hit than you think you can handle.
