Some interesting relevant concepts.

We have literally only just hatched from being a primitive ape and you want those kind of answers? I agree, I think the level of possible intelligence is lightyears ahead of us and there really is no point in intervening. Also there is one solution to the fermi paradox which is the zoo hypothesis which states that petri-dish cultures work more effectively without influencing other forms of bacteria and freaking them out too much, simply put we couldn't handle it.

David Kelley's idea of how the rate of development doubles in half the time seems true if you only observe our evolution. For many thousands of years we had mainly wood & stone structures and then in a few hundred years we have fine craftsmanship of steel and then in under 50 years we have a very radical shift to electricity and now it's moving to physics.

I would think this place would be less peaceful if there were earth-like ETs living on earth. Have you seen futurama? Chaos, man, Chaos. No more clear blue skies as it will be filled with whirling buzzing saucers and the like.

Quote:
in approximately a century’s time, humans may be able to conduct physics experiments that could level the entire universe—such as building massive particle accelerators that make the God particle swallow the cosmos whole.

Like a grumpy landlord at the door, alien intelligence will make contact and let us know what we can and can’t do when it comes to messing with the real estate of the universe. Knock. Knock.

I recommend the Wiki page on Fermi's paradox, which has a list of 20 hypothetical explanations (also recommended in the article).
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

I think the DMT nexus ought to be the place to invent 20 more hypothetical explanations for that given the types of experiences encountered by many who frequent its forums.

Nice wiki article, not much on the simulation hypothesis or dimensional matrixes though Neutral

I admit I like conspiracy theories.

Maybe aliens are already here.

Maybe they have been here for a long time. Likely many kinds and intelligences out there in the universe. Not all would see us as ants. Some may like to manipulate and toy with us. Maybe use us as food. Feeding on our fears.

Maybe we are on a prison planet. Placed in a three dimensional world to limit our power and perceptions. We are the rebel luminescent beings that have run amuck in the universe and this is our sentence.

Maybe we are the elite souls of the universe and we accepted the challenge of this human experience to evolve and add to the experience of the universe.

Maybe aliens made manipulated monkey DNA and the rest is history. They have been observing us like a petri dish.

Maybe no species can evolve past a certain point.

I would like to think that if alien species were out there they would likely have some sort of galactic federation or council. Star Trek and Star Wars may not be too far off of possibilities. Perhaps we will one day join the Universal Community.

The topic of aliens has always fascinated me. Love star trek, star wars, x-files and the like. Would love to hear alien disclosure in my lifetime. I worry about how some of the world would take information like that. Part of me thinks we would ban together as Reagan suggested during a speech to the UN in 1988 when he stated "I occasionally think how quickly our differences, worldwide, would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world". That is assuming we would be facing malevolent beings. Benevolent beings would likely adhere to the agreed upon prime directive and we would never be aware of them until we evolve and mature as a species to an approachable level.

Either which way I would be cautious with any alien species. We would need to interact with them on our terms. Hopefully a few people in the world are not dictating when the rest of us are ready for a alien disclosure. I have seen many videos of dying CIA and ex-are51 employees confessing to aliens and roswell. It is fun to read and hear about this stuff. Who knows?!

An interesting take on it. I was wondering where the singularity would emerge in this conundrum. Right now on earth we are effectively creating our successors. Our meat chariots have pretty much had their day; soon, we will have vastly superior alternatives. It makes sense that the next step in our evolution is fusing with technology or, at the very least, harnessing said technology to get in to some pretty heavy genetic manipulation.

It's an interesting time to be alive. I'm currently 30; if I live to a decent age, the world is going to look drastically different by the time I leave meatspace.

BTW, complete simulation of the human brain is touted for 2029.

Be afraid ¬_¬

If we can't even communicate effectively with dolphins, octopus's, crows and the likes outside of clinical psychosis, we got no chance with an alien species.

Isn't it just that those civilizations give up on the 3D + imaginary time paradigm at some point in their development and go off to occupy hyperspace? And then folks on here have visiting rights via 40 mg of smoalked spice which breaks the 3D+IT barrier.

In all of reality there are not two. There is just the one thing. And I am that.
