Recently in my life I have fallen into an interesting bout of being on autopilot. I have a perfect schedule down and everything seems great. Relatively few spells of nihilism have crept into my daily life lately, and it appears that my near and long term future is pretty free yet secure at the same time.

On the surface it seems like a great place to be as everything is figured out, but it feels strange that my critical thinking, meditation, and spiritual bonding sessions have almost become commonplace themselves. This would seem ideal, and in many ways it is, but I cannot shake this kind of weird, less-than-real feeling that I get sometimes as a result of being on autopilot.

What do you do in similar situations? I should preface that I also have not used any substances in a while too; I don't drink, I have not gotten high in a few weeks, and I haven't touched psychedelics in a few months as I have not necessarily felt the need to (although I plan on doing a small dose of LSD in the coming week for a nature bonding hike).

Any ideas why I have a strange feeling being on a positive type of autopilot? Is it because I might be afraid to lose this state? Have you ever felt this way?

Autopilot is nice for short periods of time. Especially when things are going good.

What I like to do is once things have fallen into place & i have been on autopilot for a few months is to try to find ways to improve my life using autopilot as a plateau. Once you get to that point things are running smoothly & it allows for further building in new directions from a comfortable position. Thumbs up

i never trust autopilot.
i see autopilot as dangerous.

when i get comfortable with life,
all hell breaks loose.

1998 was perfectly dreamy to me.
beachfront house and studio, power husband,
maid, mercedes, 122 pairs of high end shoes,
my bathtub was a custom built hot tub.
and at least 7 figures in the bank, with an estate in reserve.
my days were occupied throwing ice from my dom and vodka, at the gardener.
without a complex sad story,
3 yrs later, i was penniless, divorced, and in a empty condo,
sleeping on the only persian rug left.............

autopilot is a bad thing.
world keeps moving, even if your not,
it can run past you...........

dont cry for annie though.
i made a strong comeback since 2003..........

learn from me.
disable the autopilot NOW.
get double while the getting is good.
and hide as much treasure as you can.
find this thread in a few yrs and thank me!
"loph girl incarnate / lab rabbits included"
kids dont try anything annie does at home ,
for for scientific / educational review only.

Thanks for the great advice! I think I see the theme here. Wink
