Havent seen any posts on here about Graham Hancock's new book "Magicians of the Gods" so just thought I'd put a post up in case people weren't aware of its release as I think its a hugely important body of work that more people should acquaint themselves with
its essentially based around new evidence of a comet impact which is thought to have taken place around 12,800 years ago on the North American ice cap and he explores in great depth its staggering implications on the human story - documenting various flood myths around the world and their eerie correlations to the new data. The comet hypothesis also provides a solid context for the mysterious and sudden plunge into the extreme cold period known as the "younger dryas" which was a long 1000 year period of extremely turbulent, cold and catastrophic weather conditions occuring very suddenly during the earth's emergence out of the last ice age .. the younger dryas event has puzzled scientists for a great while and the comet hypothesis seems to explain an awful lot
He also covers in detail a number of recently excavated megalithic sites which date back in some cases between 12-20,000 years and demonstrate their profound astronomical and astrological knowledge - sites that directly contradict the story we are told about our past
all in all a fascinating and really fun read that that I cannot do justice. theres also a really good podcast with Graham and Randall Carlson on the Joe Rogan experience where they present the new evidence together in a shorter and perhaps more digestible manner
