REPORT

There was a clear string of synchronicities that have led me to finally smoke changa last night. It's weird and funny, and a bit uplifting. It started with a really great mushroom trip a few months ago, after which the world has pretty much lined up to deliver some DMT into my hands.

Finally the set and setting were correct, and I got together with a friend to drop some DMT.

Well... the first toke was 50mg of changa (caapi vine and lotus, with DMT deposited on it, made by a friend's friend), with a slight feeling of "strangeness", colors going more vivid, potted plants radiating with life... The second was another 50mg, this time a psychedelic trip similar to a mushroom trip had started, with very intricate closed eye visuals, and things seeming "perfect" with open eyes.

Given the intensity, it was surprising how clear my consciousness was. There was none of the dream-state of an intense mushroom or LSD trip. It was also permeated by a feeling of great happiness and contentedness, like "oh wow this is SO awesome"...

Remembering an interview with Shulgin when he said this is when you need to smoke some more, I took another 100mg (we had the changa in pre-measured portions for easy dosing), and smoked it. I only got to smoke about 2/3 of the load, when the full DMT experience hit me.

Strangely enough, the breakthrough was preceded by experiencing a world of "folding rooms". I had the feeling of having accessed an important nexus of information and soul... which is when someone talked to me. They said something like "okay this is it, they say there will be this crunching sound", and that's when I broke through. There actually was a crunching sound, Shulgin explained it as a thin shell being crunched together, and it really was like that, pulled and thinned into a "carrier wave" sound, a high-pitched "tinnnnnnnnnggggggg"... I had the feeling that the DMT breakthrough is a singularity, both in a mathematical, and in a literal sense, as in it's singular. All DMT breakthroughs of all human beings seemed to be connected.

There was a lack of time or space, and an intense synesthesia, the crunching and the carrier wave being describable not only as sounds, but as hard fragility, crystallization, tooth enamel and bone, electricity, ice cracking at the moment of freezing, a crystallization of what we might call soul. It wasn't entirely far from the idea of pain either. It wasn't bad, but wouldn't call it good. It was incredibly revealing, only I'm not quite sure what has been revealed.

My friend started asking me whether I wanted to lay down, which was a bad idea, it pulled me back into consensus space, and a wave of heavy discomfort hit me. Time, space and my thought processes seemed to be locked into loops, mirrored by strange looping mudras I was making with my hands. The world seemed to be made up of spirals, and resembled a retro video game. It was quite uncomfortable, but I did my best to calm myself down and go with the stream.

When he asked me if I want to smoke some more, I couldn't help but laugh in outrage, smoking more right after this experience seemed blasphemous and idiotic.

After this, I slowly regained control, and the trip returned to a level I'm familiar with from mushrooms. As the visuals and the bodily disorientation faded, the world, mass, energy, and having a body seemed awesome and novel. I felt energized and euphoric, similar to the best moments of an MDMA experience. I explored the apartment, gravity, and the idea of a material universe.

This excitement faded slowly, and I was back on baseline after about an hour. When I felt stable enough, I offered my friend to watch him while he smoked. Even though he smoked more than I did, he never attained breakthrough, and said it was only like a strong shroom trip for him, but far too short. A shame I guess.

I did smoke a single puff after I was back down on earth from his dose, and it flipped me back into a state of consciousness that I'd call "shamanic"... Things seemed themselves, only imbued with spirit. It was very interesting, a bit similar to the first moments, but also distinct from it. It lasted a few minutes only.

Cool experience, and well described...welcome to the mysterious world of DMT!!! I totally resonate with the clarity yet intensity of that state of consciousness induced by a good blast of DMT, also the low dose effects, of plants and nature appearing self illuminated, and colours much more clear and crisp, almost like the air has been sucked out of the room or something.

This description resonates a great deal with me!! You describe very well what I experienced on my one and only breakthrough. That feeling, that I also heard, was somewhere between electricity, crystallization and ice cracking exactly as you describe! When I experienced this, the rational part of me really thought I had killed myself at that moment, as I was ripped away from this physical reality so abruptly, so powerfully and so completely. I was then flipping through different places...that seemed both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time...I recall these rooms...sterile, verging on clinical, very clean, all surfaces polished and gleaming, they seemed to be somewhere between a lab and a kitchen type space...the thing was that this room was perfectly and immaculately realised in every sense, like a "real" place, only hyper vivid! Why I went there though, and what it meant (if anything), I have no idea.

Sounds like you went in deep for your first time! It took me many sessions before I had my first full on breakthrough experience.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

Very nice report, thank you for sharing!

I find the mental clarity in a DMT trip to be fascinating. Like you said, with mushrooms (or other psychedelics), I too feel like I am in a dream or trance like state but my thoughts get looped or confusing at times. This does happen to me on DMT occasionally but for the most part, my thought are clear as a bell. Even when I have been dissolved into nothing/everything, there is always some sort of consciousness that is fully aware of what is happening. Meaning you can't really escape once you are there, even if you wanted to...Very happy

I must say I am a huge fan of changa as it is probably my favorite way to ingest DMT with Pharmahuasca coming in at a close second. You can ease your way into it and I find that aspect enjoyable. However, lately I've been taking full dose in one hit which can lead to a rather intense journey. I like not having to fumble with lighters when it starts to really get going.

Cool

As an interesting synchronicity event / coincidence, I have recently discovered a soapmakers' shop nearby. They have everything you need to make soap... What are the odds, lol.. xD

Great job describing the ineffable!

You'll never know what a folding room is until you find yourself inside of one. Crazy, huh?
