Hi Opiyum, listen I'm sorry for my ranting but please I hope you can understand that I was never angry with you, I am angry with what heroin does to people, at least the people I have seen involved with it.

Bufoman- personally I believe the argument that prohibition alone causes the downsides of heroin use is false... prohibition makes things far worse, yes, but children would still go neglected under her hand if it were legal, and people would still be enslaved by her, as they were for hundreds of years before prohibition in the opium dens, hoarhouses, etc... I agree it should be legal, but with help and alternatives offered to those who feel drawn to it.

Anyway, Opiyum, if this is all too off-topic from the original question and you'd be interested in educating me and others out of any prejudices we may have, I'd be really interested in hearing about your experiences with heroin here or in another thread. I've never tried it because I know I would love it and I know it's dangerous. It took my dreamer years to stop craving his first pill again, despite it making him feel awful for a week afterwards and being so far down on the harm and addiction scale, so I think he would be on a downhill slide if he ever tried heroin. I'm always baffled by how anyone would even consider it, despite knowing people who have, and tried it quite mindlessly, just because it was on offer... some didn't like it, some did.

Anyway, aya/DMT helped to save my dreamer's life a year ago, I hope it helps you to steer your life the way you want it to go too. Don't get put off by the rants in this thread, we are not the molecule or the vine, just people grateful to have experienced it. Smile

Sorry if I've pissed you off Trav. Who is not Jacky, I'm sure... at least, I personally see no similarity in their posts. I would be very surprised! Smile

I fully understand and if there were anything to forgive you for I would offer my forgiveness up on a platter to you my friend.

I really don't think Jacky and the Traveler are the same person but it's amazing to me how greatly the websites they each created have effected my my life. I have so much respect for both of them. Really I don't know The Trav all that well but I do know Jacky pretty well...as well as one can without actually meeting a person. They are pioneers and visionaries in my opinion and because of that I look at them as almost one entity.

Oh and it wasnt' until class wars, racism, oppression and really just ignorance or worse willful ignorance on the part of the powers that be throughout history that the negative side effects of the opium poppy were realized (and many others tools of slavery). Now it's just much clearer but really it was the same back in the beginning asa it is now. That which is above is also below etc etc...
Then you get into the distillation of alcohol and isolation of morphine hundereds of years later and well...we need an archaic revival as so many much smarter people than I have said for a long time now.
The heathens in the jungle had it right all along.

It seems the only benefit to being a white man is that if time travel is invented and a reality someday we are really the only ones who can go into the past at just about any point and get a table at the nicest restaraunt without a problem. Minorities, blacks in preticular probably wouldn't really wanna go any further back than the 70's or 80's.
That's a Loius C.K. bit. It's not mine. Funny none the less and maybe has something to do with what I was just talking about. I don't know. It's all so god damned overwhelming sometimes....the hurt...the suffering...so many people for so god damn long....what is wrong with us? Better question. Will we ever change our ways?

It would be nice if this thread was closed, as interesting as it is, I'm not really sure what purpose it could serve to anyone here on nexus. I'm surprised it has lasted this long, but it really doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and really only serves to create hype around a substance that is usually not discussed on the nexus.

As you see, this thread has evolved to something nice, contrary to your predictions.

Is there any chance that what I experienced was only because of endogenous DMT? I know no one can say yes for sure but maybe no and if neither than that is really interesting. That to me would help to prove Stassman's theories that the Pineal can produce and release large enough amounts to have a psychoactive effect.
Of course there was no control and my one night certainly wasn't following the scientific method in any way shape or form but interesting to think about.

Location: A speck of dust in endless space, like everyone else.
But why would heroin cause a release of endogenous DMT?

I think bufoman's explanation is the most logical one: Your mind was sedated and started to wonder inwards, creating a sort of very powerfull daydream of wich the content was being determined by your previous experience that day.

I've never done Heroin, but I have a lot of experience with poppy tea. I used to seriously TRAVEL after drinking poppy tea. I would watch people ALL NIGHT. Strange conversations, scenarios, listening and watching vividly.
It was fascinating, but the itch, constipation, and vasoconstriction was just so icky.
I'm glad to have experienced that, but there are much better things to work with nowadays...like spice...

Well funny you ask because that's what I have been looking into and I'm thinking that maybe the bags I got had a higher than normal level of Noscapine or Narcopine in them. Some bags have none some upwards of 8% but maybe these bags had much higher levels enough to produce CEV's that others weren't noticing because they weren't paying attention or wouldn't recognize it as such.
Who knows there could have been upwards of 35 or so different alkaloids from that opium crop that maybe slipped though during production that had alkaloids competing for all sorts of different synaptic bonding sites.
Maybe DMT had nothing to do with it.

Holy shit.....5...almost 6 years later....

So....I dropped in for other reasons and found this old gem. Rereading was nice....and made me cringe at myself and some of the ridiculous things I said.

A lot of people in the thread talked of DMT and what it could possibly teach me...how it could help me with opiates. Well here's a happy ending for you I suppose....

In hindsight I think it [dmt] was instrumental in my now being two years opiate free. Suboxone also helped a great deal in its way but I don't think maintenance with it alone would have done the trick. The psychedelics of various sorts used very sparcely while maintaining strictly on suboxone and no other opiates over 3 years eventually led me to decide three-ish years ago that it was time to kick the Suboxone as well. And so I did. With a shockingly non-existent desire to use any opiates during the worst of the withdrawal and in the two years that have followed.

Only drugs ingested in those two years have been marijuana (1/4 ounce over two years maybe) which I find I don't have the taste for anymore, and a few glasses of wine. And during the worst of my withdrawals (day11 if my notes are accurate) I took 125mg of mdma as a bit of a science experiment which was both fantastic and just the relief I needed but also quite horrible in the end...coming down into withdrawals was not pleasant at all. The brief 4 hour withdrawal free window was reinvigorating to my spirit though.

Lastly...I moved with two friends (as opiate naive as they come) to Los Angeles three weeks ago and god I love it here so much. Planning to visit some elves on some beach at some point while the sun sets.

Cheers

Congrats.

I'll be interested to read this thread, as it's before my time.

Like to see people be successful with freeing themselves from opiates. Subs sent me to the hospital every time I tried them, my route involved methadone. Not fun.

Be good to you, man!

Maybe it was a "near death experience" from the dope. I know there has been a bit of speculation about similarities between DMT and NDE's...

1. This suggestion is very possible.
2. Quit Heroin.
3. Good luck.
