Godel, Escher, and Bach would be my top recommendation for a book club.

I've started this book countless time and have never completed it. This would be the firm kick in my rear necessary to finish it. (The same could be said for Finnegan's Wake, listed above, which I'd also be happy to read along with the group.)

If we ever were to break off into the realm of short stories (or collections of short stories,) readings of Borges and Lovecraft could be exciting. In addition, I'd be interested in nominating The Rings of Saturn (Sebald), Death in Venice (Mann), and Alice in Wonderland (perhaps in tandem with GEB?) to the list.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

My pick is this :

The Stranger by Albert Camus, a french philosopher.

The Stranger represents the mentality of the average nexians and their stance towards society at large.

Let's adventure together Very happy

Ok so I numbered the first choice in each persons post and had 15 posts I then had Kikker generate random numbers to see which made it into the poll.

Please see the first post to vote. I will leave it open until Friday.

I was unable to have the poll show up in the first post. So please hang tight while this is resolved.

In the meantime these are the books that made it in:
1. Magicians of the Gods
2. Childhoods End
3. Windup Bird Chronicle
4. Left in the Dark
5. Godel Escher Bach
6. Moby Dick
7. Wizard of the Upper Amazon
8. Naked Lunch
9. To Their Scattered Bodies Go
