I am drawn to this forum as well as Erowid forum to tell my story. I know i cant explain what i saw, i mean i can in my mind but not out loud.

Finally after years of research with my older brother (more than 10 years) i finally got my hands on some Salvia. Its now been 4 years since my older brother died, when we first started researching Salvia (After reading the tibetan book of the dead) we ordered a plant form hawaii but they shipped it in a container and arrived dead and rotten, my brother died two weeks after so never got the chance to try with him.

so i finally got it, and asked my younger brother who also watched a few videos after i first told him about it a few years back and he agreed to sit me and also try it.

We went to the beach, clear night, waves rolling in.

I went first, concentrated on the sound of the waves... as i took the first hit, i could feel sharp tingling needles start at my toes and slowly make its way up... My wife was filming me at this point. The light from the camera thru my eyelid i was about to tell her was looking first red then started getting bright white, but i never got the words out...

I managed to take another hit off the bong and it was a good one... i could still kind of see them, i placed the bong in the sand next to my brother that was sitting next to me and just sat there, The white light completely overcame me.

I felt the pressure building like a steamroller coming over my toes up my legs and to my chest, at this point with my eyes still closed i told my brother and wife that it felt weird like a heavy weight coming over me.

at that instant the whiteness went away and what i saw was a red Mesh (like new bought huge roll of fencing or chicken wire) Rolling from the sea onto my body starting at my toes, up my leg on my torso then onto my chest.

I fought it, knowing i should not, i feared if i let it roll over my head i would not be able to breath.

at a point i remember myself teling my brother before we started, all you do please dont resist it and just let it take you, and i decided to follow my own advice and i let it roll over me... i could physically feel myself holding the roll of fencing from moving over my head.

I let it go, even with the fear i would not be able to breath, and it rolled over and i took a deep breath and i could breath! what i saw then, if you can imagine square shaped fencing over your face but at each intersection of the fencing sort of LED lights going upwards to infinity (like an infinity mirror) But for ever, i could see FOREVER distance.

I then saw alot of things, things i cannot explain at this very moment (this happened just last night) .

But what i felt (before watching my own recording) was that i just layed back when i let it roll over me then sat right back up (felt like instant not even a minute) But the video shows me calm laying on my back in the sand looking around (looking dead my wife said) for a full 9 minutes.

I didnt thrash or move just layed there in what seemed as AWE. For me as i came out i thought it never even worked, i fought it for it not to work (at least i thought thats what i was doing) But watching the video and seeing that really it wasnt just lay down and get back up, i now know that the rolling of it off me was the ending.

at that moment at the end, i must say i felt very very happy to be alive... The feeling of total detachment of self and ego is a very frightning thing for a first timer. I even begged my brother NOT to try it. I didnt want him to feel as if he died. coz thats how you first feel.

he did anyway, but his gf freaked out and kept touching him and talking to him and he flipped and had a really bad trip.

Anyway i now know and feel alot different, from saying i will never do it again to now thinking i must do it again as i feel i missed alot.

i will add to this post as i remember stuff.

I know exactly what you mean by a lot of your descriptions. Salvia is an old friend of mine

It almost always is frightening for the first timers that experience such a full immersion, but it can become like an acquired taste. Keeps calling us back, like some familiar childhood memory.

Kind of scared of it always being frightening, but i understand... i wasnt really frightened per say, just more worried i would not be able to breath if it came over me, after that well, let your imagination run wild.

Feeling of being bodyless, hopeless, sad, scared and happy all at once and being part of everything is very profound indeed.

i feel i missed alot because of my rejection in the beginning, i feel i must do it again to know more..

Oh, the fear does recede eventually. Humans can get used to almost anything The feeling of complete dissociation from your body can create feelings of panic, death, etc.

Sounds to me like you're on the right track. The trick is all in the letting go. Dosage is pretty important as well, I must always mention.

I used my personal bong, which has a pretty big bowl, it was filled right up, and i got 2 full long held hits off of it, before i started noticing something wasnt the same so i quickly placed it down in order not to have it get broken.

i would say it was about .75 of a gram... I'm using 30X Salvia.

I know i have to try get at least 2 good hits in to go over the edge, but i also know a third would help.

was quite nervous, i certainly didnt want to take just one big hit in fear i just stay stuck at the edge and i really dint want to take more than 2 in fear i never got back LOL.

I think next weekend i will try again, this time in the comfort of my house with soft music.

Welcome and thanks for sharing. Sounds like you may develop a "long term" relationship with La Pastora. Take your time and pay close attention what is often termed, "reverse tolerance".

Many, but not all SD travelers find that with experience a decreasing dose is required to enter salvia space. In an environment free from distractions, one can "learn" to work with a "shallow"(easily exited) but very profound trance state using "tiny" doses. IME, once one is initiated to breakthroughs using combusted enhanced extracts, use of plain leaf(smoked) or quidded may offer a more controllable, less overwhelming experience. This often becomes the "go to" ROA for those who develop an ongoing involvement with the Sheperdess.

Interestingly, this phenomenon is likely psychologic and not a true pharmacologic(receptor population) issue as even after LONG periods of abstinence, many find their enhanced sensitivity intact.

was not sure how this 30x was made, always skeptical about anything packaged this way, problem is i am in the caribbean and well Salvia is very very hard to come by... the only way i got this was a friend of mine went to holland and i practically begged him buy it for me.

Whatever the method of action, reverse tolerance is very real with Salvia I've often wondered about it myself, as I'm a perfect example of this phenomenon. My tolerance is so ridiculously low that I really don't require extracts any longer at all. Two bowls of plain leaf and I will be gone for 20+ minutes So that said, do be conservative with subsequent dosages

It's always better to grow your own. Living in the Caribbean I would think the climate would be pretty optimal, actually. It's definitely worth it if you plan on having a relationship with the plant for any length of time. Very rewarding

If i could attain a healthy plant i would have many, but alas i dont.

On my 3rd trip now... seeing much more... using same large bong i can get a full gram in (about 3 1/2 hits)

Images i made up from what i experienced in the last 2 times.. The water scene is really only way i can draw it up, but think of the water as the other reality.

I now know what you think your experiencing as its "STarting" is actually the ending...

The water scene is my last exit from Salvia and what i could see, the people in front of me i could see clearly but looking back was still like i was being sucked into a wormhole or pulling myself out of one but in reverse.

The city i saw on my 4th go with 3 hits, light beings but i could never get to the center figure which seems to have been waiting on me.. probably my guide, but could never reach.

Your Water return image is really amazing - it shows the transition between realms better than anything I've seen
(except with my eyes)

Salvia is such an interesting substance, it always surprises me the physical sensations
you experience under it's effects, like the rolling wave / roll of carpet effect.
I've had a few vivid entries that I can only liken to being caught up in the wheel of a paddle-boat,
and being pushed under the water more with each turn.

Usually the transition is gentle with plain leaf but very BOOM-OH DEAR! with extracts.
Salvia trips can be quite a scary thing if a dose takes you by surprise.
I find the dissasociative action it has makes the experience totally immersing, not to mention scarily convincing

Although never had raw leaf (which i prefer), I'm using 30X extract thats all i could get
my hands on.

The water is just to represent really the fabric of the other dimension or reality, Each time for me its like you say like being caught up in a rolling or unrolling carpet, but for me its always in wireframe 3d without surface just the mesh, and always in red.

That last one i could see it coming in the distance folding/rolling upwards just like when the girl first went in in the movie inception to show leonardo decaprio what she was capable of.

But like i said, what we can explain as "Taking us" is really our return back.

Yes its very scary... my last venture i was nervous as hell my heart rate was already 123 and felt like i was having a minor heart attack.. this was around 10pm, i sat still with my family and friends around me and just meditated and checked my heart rate till it went down to 87 around an hour and a half later. as i picke dup the bong it raced back up but i said screw it, if i get a bad trip because i am so nervous at least then i get my first bad trip and see what thats like, but it was completely the opposite.

its very difficult to explain to others when you come out, i have video as well but its 2.6 gigs in HD, dont know wher ei could upload that so you can hear what i was saying.

Best i can do for my sitters with me is to explain as best i can what i was feeling as i was coming out (evne told them infront of me was normal reality and looking back where the water was and where my brother and sister was sitting i could still see the other place.

so i drew it up with a water effect to simulate that other reality so they could understand.
