The title sums it up pretty well : what are the mental techniques/philosophies/insights/etc that you have learned while in this altered state of being, what are the things, in it's largest sense, that you have intergrated into your life that we're derived or inspired by DMT experiences (if you have some to share regarding other substances please do ). The term "mental technique" might need some clarifying. For example, since I have taken DMT I can sometimes acces, while sober, a state where I get visions back to back just like a small dose of DMT when closing my eyes by only focusing on my breath/body while trying to maintain a feeling that is similar to that I get or can get on DMT if it pop's up in my mind or if I manage to make it "pop up" by thinking about it enought. Do any of you experience this or something else of the sort ? I assume the rest, philosophies/insights/etc..., is easy to guess what I mean, so I won't explain myself

Nice idea for a thread. I get that too btw, I can achieve visions simply by meditating, although it's nothing like tripping.
I guess my philosophy would be (and I'll include the brew as well as I'm into some heavy doses), that I really didn't know much before I started this. I was a straight up materialist, and it took quite a few experiences to break that. Each time eroded what I thought I knew a bit more. There definitely seems to be more going on in this world (or maybe in the inner world, or both at once) than we normally perceive. But I think the world has a soul, not just us, there's some sort of mind in nature. I think nature has its own plan, and everything is unfolding just as it should. To me, and I've said this elsewhere recently, dmt seems to be love manifest in matter, and I've seriously come to think it was the philosophers stone of the alchemists, as alchemy teaches the exact same things as the plants. It's shown me that there's more to me than my ego, that there's some sort of feminine goddess energy in the natural world (incidentally, some women seem to be aware of this and they radiate such energy). The effects of dmt and ayahuasca seems to call into question the mainstream scientific view as well, it's they were right, it seems to me that the effects just wouldn't be possible at all, as how could such a world arise out of the one we live in? I think consciousness will be what unifies quantum physics and the world of the macro. And I would have probably not learned any of these things without my experiences, they've made me quite eager to learn all I can about everything. My experiences have lead me to believe that the past, present and future are all equally real, all the time, that this reality is some kind of hologram perhaps. And of course I believe the all is one thing, that separation is an illusion. Another thing is that I'm at peace with myself, I never was before, and I don't just talk about things I live it.

Nice to know i'm not alone ! But yeah, it's nothing like tripping, although when I think that I can actually do that now since DMT it seems like a gift was given to me. Quote:Another thing is that I'm at peace with myself, I never was before, and I don't just talk about things I live it. This is perhaps one of the most important lessons. I'm really starting to think that either the plants have a spirit of their own, like the shamans believe, or that they show us the spirit or essense we all share on a fundamental level because there are far to many consistencies inside the DMT experience as well as how people make sense of there experience. The last is especially provocative to me, since seeing similar things is already indicating something, but making sense of the experiences as a whole in ways very similar to that of other people means there is something we do not yet understand. Quote:as how could such a world arise out of the one we live in? I see only two options to this : either the human mind is a universe of it's own or DMT let's us acces a universe other than ours. I think the first to be more plausible since it can explain all that the second can, but the idea is simpler. This would also fit in with what you said : "I think consciousness will be what unifies quantum physics and the world of the macro. " Keep on learning all that you can learn ! Or keep on learning all that you cannot learn : learn to know what you cannot know !

Techniques that I find most interesting obtained from the DMT experience are those that can be used in an interactive manner within the experience. This is my trifecta. #1: Attention Where I put my attention makes reactionary differences in hyperspace. It's kind of like a hyperspace physics phenomenon. Energy, objects, entities flow to where my attention is focused. Things under continued focus can undergo development, transformation, and sophistication. Attention becomes synonymous with hyperspatial energy. Attention gives entities the fuel to do those things that they do. It literally provides them with energy for their multidimensional tasks. Beautiful and ugly entities alike seek to captivate your attention for seemingly different ends. I used to think that the meditation exercises of imagining energy moving from different parts of the body to others was a bunch of bogus, but it has become very clear to me that the exercise is far more literal than many of us tend to assume. #2: Breathing Like attention, breathing is linked directly to energetic flow. For myself, inhalations draw the contracting energy inward towards myself. Exhalations create an expansion. Because the entities, objects and landscapes are composed of the same energy, their motion becomes linked to the breath as well. When attention and breathing are combined there is a synergy. #3: Vibration The other big factor that has an instantaneous reaction with the energy is vibration of any sort. Audio, visual and tactile vibration can all elicit the others. The interchangeability of the vibrations is stunning. Creating audio frequencies (sound) will cause the appearance of visuals in the form of light and color. Interacting with physical light creates shifts in energy which can move the body. Likewise sound can affect bodily motions through the transfer of energy because sound easily entrains the energy such as music with a strong groove can create very forceful involuntary motions of the parts of the body that are in contact with the energy. Singing, overtone singing and throat singing become very powerful tools that can become especially handy in times of needing to defend myself against unwanted encounters. If I had to put one theme that runs through the experience from top to bottom, it would be the concept of vibration. Vibration underlies the entire thing. It's not like an answer, it simply seems to be the core mechanism at play. Furthermore, these concepts of energy can be readily felt without the influence of DMT. It is that more focus is needed to conjure more energy. With DMT, it's like having energy training wheels. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead
"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb

Similar techniques to Global.
Attention - As Global said; everything in the experience for me is contingent upon where my attention flows, all directed more or less by me. The experience feeds off of how much conscious attention I invest in the particulars. It's taught me that where I put my attention definitely does matter, in terms of energy development within the experience. Also though, on the inverse, on some of my most powerful experiences i've been shown how to not focus my attention on the particulars but to drop the attention-pointing and look at the Whole, as it is, for what it is (and what it is - I have no clue, the Mystery; it's beyond particular labeling); and in doing that - the experience has opened up in ways to me that id not perceived prior. I guess you could call that 'letting go of attention', or just 'letting go', but doing that has opened up how I receive the experience and interact. So I guess you could say the latter has been the ultimate lesson for me in attention.
Duality - For me, anytime im deep in a powerful experience, polarities such as good or bad, dark or light, dangerous or safe; ANY polarity that is conceivable ends up directly or indirectly feeding into it's opposite, ad infinitum. Experiences where i've been ripped to pieces and various forces/entities were jumping in and out of my chest, or opening me up to move up into my head or some area of my body to push along specific types of vibrations (operating; sometimes extremely uncomfortable and overwhelming) - im sure there's any number of ways i could take in and react to those. I could act out of fear, I could react of of interest, or I could not react at all. My point im getting to is that the intense/never ending array of polarities that Hyperspace can present have always been subsumed by the 'bigger picture' ime - All is That, All is Hyperspace, the seemingly good, bad, ugly, beautiful, wonderous, horrifying, scary, ecstatic - They ALL are subsumed by the greater force that is Hyperspace. So imo, realizing that, every time I go in deep, no matter how it turns out and which ever place I may end up -there's always the arms of Hyperspace, there, holding me tight; and it's beautiful. Hyperspace wears many masks, and behind those masks - there is just That.
Life and how this experience ties in - I don't even know where to begin with this tbh. This experience single handedly has flipped my life and how I perceive the perceiver behind these eyelids on it's head innumerably. This experience has tore down any conceivable framing that I could possibly ever dream up. Just when I think I have a handle on some inkling of understanding when it comes to this experience - I am proven wrong, without effort. This experience has shown me that the "I", the "Me" is the most stubbornly persistent yet flimsiest of appearances. There is a ME at one level, but, at a level much deeper than what I can normally fathom, there is a whole teeming realm of impossibly moving beauty and power, an indescribable brilliance, an essence that will move you to tears, it'll move you to your knees. The Mystery is ever present. We and the phenomenal world of matter are bound to it, indefinitely. Life itself is an immortal process. Forever and always, consuming and birthing on every level imaginable.
This experience will take you as far as you wish to see/tolerate. It will pull out all the stops to try to get you to break. Ime, this has always been a test - the intensity, the horror, the uncomfortability, the sheer power it can wash over you - all a test. How much do you want to see? Are you sure you can handle this? It will push as much as you can pull and it will pull as much as you can push. It knows no limits, it has no limits; but it will surely test yours. It will reward for the perseverance; the intrepid explorer.
It's a part of me now, wherever I go. Every face, every gesture, every action in everyday life is imbued with the essence of the Mystery. Hyperspace is everywhere. Sometimes the feeling dies down, ego comes back with an intensity; yet the Mystery still remains, forever and always. There's no turning away from it any longer. Sometimes I wonder what I got myself into; but tbh I wouldn't have it any other way..

This has been my experience as well. And syncronicity, it's everywhere now, all the time. And I seem to have developed an uncanny ability to spot other people who have had the experience, it's something in their face, in their eyes. Almost like the eyes of a person who's been in combat, these are eyes of a person who's been to a place that almost no one else has seen. In fact the other day I was walking down the street, downtown in my city, and I came across a girl who just appeared to me to be in a totally separate time frame, and she had that glow, then I noticed she had ayahuasca tattoos as well, so I just had to tell her that I knew that she knew.

All of you make extremely good points. I was going to add what Tatt added to Globals perspective on "attention", but he beat me to it . Personally, a philosophy that I derived from the experience, one that is also a mental tool, is to never pay attention to one thing for too long : doing so makes us miss out on things. Like in real life, focus is good when you need transformation : transformation of your skills, of your mentality concerning a particular subject, etc. But on the other hand, looking at the big picture is a tool for transcendence : to look beyond the particular. Both are good, depends what you are looking for. Duality : good and bad, the beauty and the ugly, fear and love, death and birth, so on. All are language, in hyperspace language is obsolete : all of these words do not make sense. The only thing that does is the underlying foundation or "hyperspace", and it can only ever be free. I think hyperspace is trying to teach us about the nature of perception and phenomenas in these times. It allows trancendence of the veil between us and the phenomenas thus showing that "opposites" do not exist : they always go together. The ugly can be the love, the bad can be the birth, the beauty can be the fear. All is what you make of it. Everytime I judge or place a label on something in hyperspace it will always change into it's opposite very quickly. It is as if all of it is one big entity that doesn't like the idea of being static, language is often static so I just look. Language is never really in the "now" either, which is never a good thing, especially while in hyperspace. Quote:This experience has shown me that the "I", the "Me" is the most stubbornly persistent yet flimsiest of appearances. So true, pay attention to the "I" and it will undergo devellopment indefinitely. Quote:Likewise sound can affect bodily motions through the transfer of energy because sound easily entrains the energy such as music with a strong groove can create very forceful involuntary motions of the parts of the body that are in contact with the energy. This as only ever happened to me when a friend was playing guitar, never with headphones or music playing from speakers. Do you get this all the time ? Maybe I just have a tendency to focus on the visuals. Using the words you guys have used if I were to write down my methodology to get the most out of an experience it would be something like this : 1. Focus attention to gather self to present moment, forgetting and letting go of control, security, relations and all thoughts. Thus at the sametime leaving all duality behind. (breathing is usefull for this as well*) 2. Focus attention to leave the self behind and transcend it or, if you will, focus attention to transcend attention (letting go) so that one becomes One.(*) 3. Try to mainting this state (if I ever drift away from it too early things will lean more towards the "dark side" for a moment if I am not able to redirect myself again)

Superb describtions guys! Global wrote: Attention becomes synonymous with hyperspatial energy. It appears to me, that this and its power are infinite. #Time and frequencyThe percepted time slows down by raising my own attentional frequency and reverse. #Reflections of the hyperspatial processesOmniversal hyperspace mechanisms reflect itself in everything and unfold itself in the now. F.e. interconnectivity by synchronity, we are all part of it. #Nowness & commitmentAttention and hyperspactial energy interact by commiting myself in and to the now. Whatever I do, I do it 100%. It seems like there is just 0 and 1, "writing the matrix". I am aware that every single action I do has an echo. #SelfempowermentI am light myself and create (by storming and forming hyperspatial energy and letting go) my realities. #RelativityEverything is relative and often there is no “or” but “and”. Language is a great conceptual differention- and expression-tool which makes it easy to get lost in it. I don’t know anything except what I experience myself, thus everything out of my experience is a maybe to me, except I want to believe in something. #Integration & evolutionI can stay and fully open myself to the experience and learn and evolve by integrating. When I do, I can remember, I stay awake. Whenever I want to miss, neglect and “forget”, it will come back till it is integrated but till then this space is blocked for something new. I experienced and differenciate between a crystal (stuck in believes and focused on validation, rigid, slowly moving, friction -> tension -> stress) and a liquid (smooth flow, flexible, open, creative, possibility to perceive/interact with f.e. hyperspatial mechanisms) mind state. Because I am all my experience there is no need to hang on and repeat the past/old/known, thus I can fully engage in focusing and creating the unkown in the now. To me, the experience is an omniversal spectrum of infinte perfection Tattvamasi wrote:It's a part of me now, wherever I go.
