After my first extraction I smelt that sweet smell for the first time and said "I know this is it."

I love to take a sniff every once in a while.

I find this neat, cause I personally associate the smell of DMT with death (smells exactly like when a person is going through organ failure or in their final moments from my experience). When I occasionally catch a wiff of it on someone I either wonder if they know of the spice or are slowly nearing their end. Shocked Not to be a downer though, I do actually like the smell. Death isn't necessary a bad thing, it's only natural. Wink Smile We all die eventually and I like to think there's something pleasant afterward, even if it's returning to universal consciousness or whatever.

I used to find this too. The first time I ever smelled vaped spice, I described it as smelling like the home of an old man about to die.

over the years it's come to smell very different to me, but when it goes stale (ie 2 or 3 days after smoalking without proper ventilation) I still get faint whiffs of death.

Strange how subjective the sense of smell is.

I'm not a big fan of SWIM. I mean, I've never met the guy, but any time I hear about him, he's doing something sketchy.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

So I just moved into my new home! Finally free from apartment life! Love What is interesting about this is that as I walked home today, I passed by a few places where I was suddenly overwhelmed with the smell of spice! I couldn't quite pinpoint it's location as it was a breezy day, but I definitely smelled it! It was very strange but not unpleasant! Very floral-like...

We should develop a perfume with the fragrance of DMT... cue the confused hippies in festivals everywhere.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

That would be great! Walking in circles, trying to locate the scent! Laughing I would totally buy that! I'm sure there are fragrances that smell similar to DMT already like the honey scented candle I mentioned. That smelled excellent!

My first impression of the smell was that it was too chemically and seemed fake toe, like something that shouldn't be smoked Laughing Over time, my opinion on the smell changed and I began to really like it.

I saw other threads about the smell before I posted but decided to post anyways since they were from a while ago or on other forums. I was mainly curious to see if others actually liked the smell too! Thumbs up

The indole smell is really evident for me when it does come about. One of my favorite smells is when im brewing mimosa on the stove for long periods of time. Im pretty certain that years after working with DMT, whenever id start brewing mimosa on the stove and let the steam/smell get thick in the house - I start to have a mild alteration of effects - increased heart rate, lightness of body, visual acuity heightened slightly though very noticeable; an expansiveness of thought, color saturation, etc.

The memories associated with these times I smell DMT strongly; it's impossible to describe for me. The memories come around sometimes; but once in awhile - they'll come in full swing. If I go to close my eyes and get a big whiff of either straight DMT, vaped DMT, or mimosa/etc on the stove - im flooded with intense memories - specifically memories from some of my deepest, most intense DMT experiences. These memories then take shape in bits and pieces though never fully; kind of like how a dream starts to piece itself together if you hold your awareness at night while you drift off into the pre dream state. Literally, pieces of Hyperspace start to come together during these moments, but they are sporadic and short and never fully form. It's essentially 'memories made to reality' from behind the closed eyes.

Personally, I think Hyperspace is right there, behind the eyes, always present - all the time; although I think smell can/will trigger a cascade of effects, especially with eyes closed. Also I think the intensity of the memories/visions after smelling DMT are in some way related with how deep one's gone. All very interesting.

Oh ya this is really common. We call them "phantom sniffs" and they'll definitely can bring on intense flash backs. As Tattvamasi described so well, thank you. It happens more when you've been smoalking recently.

After having smoked it for a while I have noticed the smell in other things.

Hard to say why but sometimes things have THAT smell mixed in.

I know this stuff is everywhere so maybe after we smell its pure essence we can identify it out in the wild.

Anyone else....?

I used to smell it everywhere after I extracted for the first time. Sometimes I will even taste in a cigarette still. Mine generally smells floral but I understand how people could associate it with other things.

I can relate this part too! In addition to smelling tge smell itself randomly, I smell it in other things where it's only part of what I'm smelling. I also posted about changa as I haven't made it but was wondering whether or not the DMT flavor was noticeable. The impression I got from the replies was that the DMT flavor was apparent but different depending on the ratio of plant matter to DMT used.

I haven't been around DMT for a couple years and I still get the random smells but I can imagine it being much more prevalent in after recently smoalking.
