Indeed, the manipulation does seem extremely simplistic, but it might perhaps offer an insight on how the psychedelic effect may or may not be achieved. I find that in the case of my psychedelic experiences, that holographic or patterned overlay can also be responsible for image distortions. I would say that all of the examples in the video were somewhat reminiscent of the texture breathing effect. It is typically one of the first visual effects to be noticed on all of the tryptamines. The speed with which more complex visual effects tend to come on, will usually be largely determined by which tryptamine was used, and in what fashion.
