Can the DMT experiance be a trip back down the road to where it all began?

Posibly back to the womb ..three months...one month...or even hour or even first minute of conception within our mother..?

I consider this because the brain only can take one to a world it knows or can create..

Depending on what mental level is acheaved..a genitic world of the lives of past ancesters may also be another door we can open?

One function the brain works on ..is learnt memory.. that in time tells us who we are suposed to be..what our name is and in effect makes us human with an individual identity..

That human identity can be lost at least temporaliy durring a strong DMT trip ....

Also ive wondered about the ..[fetal position].. that an unborn baby is in within the womb?

Maybe a protective way to enter a world outside its mothers body?

The fetal position in the new born and in those leaving life .. [or dieing]..may be a hint to the secrets of life and death!

I also see a posible link to the ..[fetal position].. that many people position themselves in when dieing.. the act of dieing and the act of being born looks mysteriously similar as one enters life ...and others leave life?

The fetal position can apear in the face of over whelming presures...like when one is being brutaly killed and is defensless...they have no choice than to soften the pain and retreat back to an existance of non human form?

The fetal position ..or returning to an existance void of human feelings ...or human pain... to a place where you have not developed a human personality yet...[the womb] where it all began where everything is brand new to you and so beautyfull...

Could the DMT experiance be a trip back to where it all began before the personality formed within us?

Just my rambling thoughts,,,

There are two resources I'll recommend that might interest you. One is the classic DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman in which he explicitly theorizes that DMT could play a pivotal role in both the mother and child's brains during vaginal childbirth. He goes on to theorize about how C-section births could reduce or even eliminate the DMT release during birth which leads to problems later in life.

The second resource would be reading Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson. While both this book and The Spirit Molecule should really be required reading for everyone here, I am just recommending individual parts of both texts which could be of interest to you. Anyway Wilson's 6th circuit of psychology (which is Leary's 7th) is the collective neurogenetic circuit which gives humans experiences of being back in time, at or even before our births. With these kinds of experiences we can even view the collective knowledge of our species according to Wilson.

DMT and various other psychedelics are known activators of many of the circuits, especially higher ones such as this. Strassman even suggests, as you seem to as well, that the DMT experience could be an allusion or even a replay to our births. But also I think it would be important to consider that maybe hyperspace or whatever elements we like to discuss exist independently of our perception, and they can only be perceived by such an early human who has not been exposed so much to sensation yet or a human under the influence of an extraordinarily powerful psychedelic drug such as DMT.

So instead of being a "replay" of birth the DMT experience could act as something that breaks down barriers that social and sensual conventions have built up in our minds with years of living in society. Excitingly, this may be the realm to which we travel upon death or an exit from our bodies.

While this all may seem very exciting and even plausible to an extent, we do have to keep in mind that these are all just theories and models. You have to determine for yourself how realistic they are and how applicable they are to improving your life or whatever other goals you have set for yourself.
"Think for yourself and question authority." - Leary

"To step out of ideology - it hurts. It's a painful experience. You must force yourself to do it." - Žižek

I have a little bit of experience with this position.

One experience about 5 years back, before I started consistently working with changa, one night i had melted down some full spec mimosa extract onto some herb. Took a big puff and everything began to shift and morph with relative quickness. At that point in time I had never received a received a hyperslap.

Thinking "Ohh i'll take just one more toke", as the first hit was completely disassembling my world, I took another good sized toke. The second I took that, I had gotten caught in a terrible loop - everything folding in and consuming itself, then folding back out re-displaying everything in consensus reality; this just kept repeating for what felt like eternity; and immense terror struck me. Everything was Hyperspace and it just kept on this infinite looped-cycle.

In that moment I felt the immediate need to sit up in my lounge chair and completely curl up into a fetal-type position/ball of sorts and close my eyes (could barely recognize that I even did that because eyes opened or closed were barely distinguishable). In that moment being curled up and in that position, everything kept it's intensity, but somehow it made the experience much more manageable in terms of pulling myself from the loop and semi-directing the experience. I stayed curled up the entire time. It's like when I curled into this position it allowed the folding in/out nature and the sheer intensity of that experience to manifest in the circular motion that being curled up presented. That experience was really odd., but turned out for the best.

But then again i've had a few oral DMT experiences where fetal position or curling into a ball of sorts, during the peak of the experience, lead to the intensity becoming 5-6 fold; in a sense it felt like I was showing some form of weakness to the experience by curling into this position and therefore the experience completely demolished me - intensity, fear, intense dread, getting smashed endlessly without any letting up, completely drowning in the dissolution of myself.

Not sure what that specific posture does when you're in a deep DMT state, if anything. But something tells me that the experience definitely molds and changes course in tandem with this position. (as with probably many other positions; yoga etc)

I try and avoid this position, since it hasn't led to pleasant and coherent experiences for me, for the most part at least. Not always. I've experienced stuff like early sensations that reach back further into my memory than I can normally access- while on ayahuasca and DMT- but never while in that position personally. Muscle memory is very strong though so it wouldn't surprise me.

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

* One explanation I heard for the fetal position is, that in this position, the most vulnerable parts of the body, being the viscera, are best protected from external approach on the inside of the curl. The back (on the outside of the fetus curl) being a more firm structure could protect the viscera better.
Makes sense in a way, if a mother wants to protect the baby she will put the baby also on the inside curl location together with her own vulnerable part.

I checked wikipedia and they also suggest the protecting strategy, they also refer to the arms around the head for protecting the brains as well:
Quote:
This position provides better protection to the brain and vital organs than simply lying spread out on the ground, so it is clear as to why it is an instinctual reaction to extreme stress or trauma when the brain is no longer able to cope with the surrounding environment, and in essence "shuts down" temporarily.

* In aya circles it is said to avoid the position because circulation of energy is less possible then. A bit like UC said.

* Tatt's version, I have a different experience (talking about pharma/aya): when things get too hairy and I want to taper off some intensity, I go fetal position and start yawning and very big rate of success of lessening intensity. In that position it seems as the intensity cannot reach me as good, like I feel less target surface for it in a way. Usually I do the following thinking along: "Well this circus is getting annoying and now I gonna do a little sleep". While sleeping is out of the question the message still reach effect some how.
So maybe it's not the position alone, but the 3 components together that lessen intensity:
- fetal position;
- yawning;
- the attitude of: "I don't care shit, I gonna sleep a bit nahh"
