Hello Nexians,

I'm this close to taking my first dmt trip, Just waiting for the right moment but it's happening very soon. I'm only going to start off with a 10-15mg dose just to test the waters, get my technique right etc then increase from there, but I would like some advice about what to tell my sitter to expect as neither of us have done this before.
When people are in hyperspace after a breakthrough dose how do they behave? is it all happening internally or do you externalise your emotions? I just want to let them know not to worry if I either start jumping for joy or curl up into a ball on the floor!

Thanks
Woody

hello woody,

maybe it would be a good idea to familiarise yourself with the experience before you take it, if you dont know roughly whats going to happen to you then maybe you should put it off until you do.

all the info you need is on the forum and just requires a little reading to familiarise yourself with what is likely to happen.

it's all in your mind, but what's your mind???

Generally people lay down quietly during DMT breakthough, not always though. People can speak in tongues, go into convulsions, roll around in ecstacy or in agony. Sometimes it can be quite disconcerting and lead an untrained sitter to be worried about the tripper. They should not interfere with the tripper! They should not talk to the tripper or interact with the tripper in any way unless/until the tripper specifically asks them for something.

You shouldn't really have much issue with such low doses. Regarding protocol, I generally recommend the sitter stay out of the immediate area of the tripper, but within shouting distance and just quietly amuse themselves. They should be fairly familar with the substance, they should know about how long it lasts and a basic timeline of effects. They should know the safety profile of the compound, what dosage the tripper took, and at least be familiar with any potential adverse effects. They should know what to do in the event of an emergency. Moreso however they should just serve as a stable grounded anchor for the tripper.

Here is a short list of tripsitter resources that would be of great benefit for both the tripper and the sitter to familiarize themselves with.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...

I have read plenty to get a good idea of what's going to happen internally, I suppose I just mean more like what I can tell my sitter to expect to observe of me.

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

^^^That pretty much sums it up. Be sure you are in a comfortable place. Somewhere you can lay back and enjoy the ride. You may do strange things. Or you may just appear to be sleeping/dreaming to the outside observer.

One time I was sitting on my bed and I had just exhaled my third hit. I glanced down at my hands/arms as I set the bong down (I was smoking enhanced leaf) and I noticed my skin had changed into some sort of striped reptilian material. That was all good and great but then my body started dissolving in front of my eyes. As if I was evaporating into this fractal rainbow like gas/energy.

That startled me a bit and I started frantically flailing/twisting back and forth to see/understand what was happening. I couldn't feel my limbs anymore. Or see them. I had become some sort of energy. The room had also dissolved in a similar fashion. Full of lights and endless patterns. At that point it took all my focus and energy to remember to lay back (whatever laying back is...how do you lay back with no body to lay on? Pleased ) and close my eyes.

That's when I was taken. Almost as if the room and I had to change into proper form before traversing through hyperspace. If I were to guess, all of this had happened within the first two minutes or so and the whole journey was about 7-10 minutes. I'll leave this story here for now seeing as posting a trip report was not my point. Very happy

My point is that my significant other was there when this happened and she said she started to worry when I was twisting and moving about. She said she could see that I was obviously having an intense experience. She did not interrupt. She waited patiently for me to return and then asked questions about what had happened.

Know your substance. Know your sitter. Be comfortable. Be safe. Be smart.

Best of luck to you

Nice!!!! You are in for an experience, I can assure you.
With that said I just want to share an advise I think is important aswell,

meet the experience sober from any other drug even Cannabis then you get the `purest first experience of the DMT.

After you grow more and more comfortable withthe experiences you start experimenting and you find what is most suitable for you.

See ya later Big grin
Don't believe everything you think.

Yes. Ive noticed alcohol and other drugs deaden the experience and would suggrst going into this dead sober. Ive been told I gag and make strange noises if Ive been drinking... Almost like the experience is physically wanting to rid my body of toxins. Ive puked rainbows of bullshit and self repression... Never "actually" thrown up before

Thanks for all the responses, that's really helpful to get it firsthand and puts me at ease. I've got a good sitter with me and a good environment so it's just about the right moment now. I definitely won't be mixing, I intend to abstain from any alcohol and weed for a while before leading up to the experience as I find that both these have adverse effects on my mood these days now matter how little I have. Nothing serious like depression, maybe residual anxiety, but complete abstinence will definitely leave me feeling clear headed and give sharper focus to my intentions and mood.Smile

I certainly second the "no alcohol" statement. Even two beers an hour or so before a DMT experience will make me heave if not outright vomit. This isn't the case with everyone, but it applies to me and several others I know. Some people can have residual alcohol in their systems with no issue, but not me.

When I sit for someone, I help them with the dose if they need it, then move off a distance to leave them alone, but close enough that I can see/ hear them in case they need human contact. I agree with the above statement that a sitter should in the best situation be familiar with DMT, but if they are not, a solid review of the above linked tripsitter resource would be extremely helpful.

There is nothing you can read to prepare you for a DMT experience, I am glad for you that you are about to walk that path! Happy trails and safe landings.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile!
