Ive read many reports about those claming their hearts were pounding very hard coming up on dmt and it scared them ...

I have never experianced this problem ..[atleast on acacia confusa spice]...

I often would notice an increrase in heart rate ..[on come up]..but that feeling passed quickly.... [ and was never that intense].. it was more a relaxed visual trip then on for me ...

Maybe it can be anxiety about taking the drug that causes this fear reaction..wich is a normal response...

It may also be the way the acacia come up works verses the mimosa come up??

Can any one relate to this diference between the two kinds of spice? ...accia.verses momosa?

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

I wish I could have the pleasure of testing both. Unfortunately I only have experience with the acacia onset seeing as the legality of mimosa is a bit unstable currently.

Anyway, I personally am VERY aware of my heart rate whenever participating in an acacia trip. It definitely increases and I'd like to think that pre-flight anxiety is the the culprit but I am not sure. Usually the racing heartbeat subsides once it really gets going. That or there is just so much going on that I can't comprehend what a heart is let alone focus on it.

I think some comparative experimentation is needed to fully understand if there is a difference between the two.

it is likely to be very subjective and user dependent, imho!!

Thumbs up

If the nmt was kept, it can work as a modulator.
On MH spice (he never tested AC spice) the overly & excess heart beat was a serious issue at first, but not so anymore. A familiarization process (probably on several levels) has it completely down to normal, just a slight rise, nothing to worry about. On pharma that rise it there too, be it a longer period in the coming up.

I only used spice from MH and i never noticed a high heart beat rate after inhaling. I can't say if it's because it doesn't happen or if it's because my attention is hold by other crazy things^^.
On the other hand, before inhaling, i have to focus to calm down my heart as it wants to escape from my chest. Very happy

taking some harmalas and meditating as I gradually increase the dose of Changa can help me tremendously with staying calm and maintaining more of a trance state. I don't see why it would matter much whether it was mimosa or acacia, although perhaps the NMT might help somewhat.

I only use Mimosa and most of the time the onset is amazing but now and then for some reason my heart rate goes up and I feel fear. I have to tell my self to relax and go with it, the sensation quickly passes and I'm fine.
I don't know why that happens .

I have [one time] experianced from an intense and.. [very sudden acacia a come up] that it felt as if...
..satan himself.. grabed me by my shirt collar..and said now i got you!!

There was nothing at all gentil about how it hit me!

It was so sudden that it was kind of scary but subsided very quickly...

It must have been a heavy dose i didnt weigh...

Almost all my acacia come ups have been strong but gentile and even relaxing . the diference must be dose size...

I always play spiritual american indian music like ..lakota piano..Brule ...someday... it seems to protect me durring the trip making the trip more floating and dream like....

I don't understand what is meant by NMT being referred to as a 'modulator'. I've mostly worked with ACRB, but have with MH as well. I've always perceived two separate peaks from ACRB, as if the two trypts metabolize at slightly different rates. This effect is incredibly profound when smoalking after using p. harmala seeds, coming almost all the way down and then all the way back up, although I've heard it's common with jungle ayahuasca. So that's probably more the harmals. I thought they were both psychedelic, by modulate do you mean synergize, or that one makes the other more or less powerful?

I often find the body load from acacia extract to be extremely euphoric, reminiscent of that of a stimulant combined with an opiate. But it's powerful. When the effects first come on, my breathing accelerates first, in fact I notice that more than my heart. Yes, it increases my heart rate, but never disturbingly so. Remember, you're perceptions are not only heightened, but highly distorted.

The more components are competing to occupy the limited available neuro receptors, the less one is stealing the show all for itself. If there is only dmt then it's effect is stronger than when the dmt has to "share" with other components like nmt. Hence the word modulating. Since nmt is more "soft" then dmt, the effect of nmt + dmt is also more softened than dmt alone. I believe that this also explains why smoking tobacco during a peak of aya will flair out the intensity one notch. Interpreted as a grounding effect. Critics are very welcome.

Makes sense about neuro receptors .so any nmt will mellow the experiance..but also vapeing method has an effect .. if vaped wrong.. it can destroy some of the DMT making it a weaker experiance...

Pure ..NN DMTby itself is.. mercylessly intense.. and i see why many experianced DMT smokers switch to changa mix..Thumbs up

For what it's worth, my heart rate has been unusually elevated for the past 2 weeks, and I smoked some DMT 2 days ago and my heart gave me no problems at all. If anything, it's been feeling better.

DMT shows a preferential high affinity and clear agonism at 5-HT2B receptor which has been causally linked to valvular heart disease.

Most psychedelics will increase your heart rate. Parts of your body and brain will be using more/less oxygen, nutrients etc than usual as this is the very nature of what these substances do. If this is a worry to you, the obsession of the change in perception + the actual physical changes will magnify each other.

The way I see it, going for a jog increases your heart rate too!

If you're in good shape, the physical demands of using substances will be much more managable.

It's also been said that the symptoms of some panic disorders can mimic that of Angina more or less completely.

Unless you have a pre-existing heart condition...

DON'T PANIC!!!!!!

To add my very short bit to this, my heart rate increased but personally (may not apply to all) it seems it's simply anxiety.
Times I'm not anxious like if I wait for a long time until I feel DMT is "calling me" and I'm actually excited to go in vs "oh boy I hope this doesn't turn into a crazy circus", I have no increased heart rate.

I'm quite prone to panic and have had times when my heart rate has defo shot up, but I've also had times when upon inhalation all my worries have flown away and my heart rate seems to slow a little and my whole body seems to calm. I can even hear sounds coming from my gut area as my stomach seems to relax and all the strain leaves my muscles.

I've also have felt unpleasant pains in my chest and left arm when inhaling DMT, which due to the historical safety profile of DMT I never worried about, but I have had substances set off a more long term lasting sensation that have ended up with me visiting the accident and emergency ward being tested for cardiovascular trauma which found absolutely nothing. Then through a little reading, turns out anxiety can pretty much mimic angina:

I'm one of the people who get's a racing heart before a DMT trip. Some of it is because I'm anxious even though I've tripped over 200 times but another factor is most likely due to not inhaling and not breathing for almost a minute or until I leave my body behind.

same here. I have also had intermittent episodes of heartburn from taking to many supplements and caffeine that caused such anxiety and panic to a point i went and had a physical/EKG and a CT scan of my heart. I also had left shoulder pain (actually caused by my dog jeking my arm with the leash on walks) $500 later i had a clean bill of health and actually considered athletic and better than the average percentile in my age group. Since then i modified my diet a bit, no antacids and fenced the yard for my dog and all symptoms lifted.

I do get an elevated heart rate before DMT but it is fear/excitement. I do try to meditate and do some asanas until i level out before i go.this can take a while. I usually need to set 2 or 3 hrs for myself which includes journaling post flight. If i am freebasing i take 20mg sublingual harmalas beforehand helps facilitate a good headspace with less anxiety.for me also.if it is acrb extracted i take less harmalas. For me avoiding cannabis until after helps a great deal. Anyone else.think so?
Marijuana, LSD, psilocybin, and DMT they all changed the way I see

I do experience racing heart, and most recently, I've experimented with taking beta blocker before getting off. The result was highly positive, my heart rate was like when I'm sleeping, it seemed. Smile
