While I can't recall the details of my first trip, it was life changing Options

So if you've read my introduction post, you'll know that DMT was my first psychedelic. I was very mentally prepared for my journey, so it was pretty smooth sailing. While the details are blurry, I will never forget the instant dissociation from my body and the transport of my soul to another dimension.

The most important thing I took away from this experience was that psychedelics are wonderful substances. It's almost like they open up pathways in your brain that give you a completely different perception and appreciation of the world that we live in.

Unfortunately since DMT was my first psychedelic, all the other ones I have tried have been underwhelming. While still achieving interconnectedness to plants and animals or fractal patterns vibrating on your walls, it's not the spiritual journey that DMT provides.

I was going to elaborate much more on this post, until the sleep deprivation set in. I'll likely update it later on, I'm too incoherent to remember what I was going to say.

Until then,

Hi whippits! Glad to hear you have a new found appreciation for psychedelics. Welcome to the Nexus Smile

What were the other psychedelics you tried other than DMT? What were the doses? I ask because I find a strong dose of shrooms to be just as spiritual as DMT. I believe it's dose dependant... and set and setting plays a massive part of course.

Happy travels!

Mushrooms, LSD, multiple variants of 2C compounds, salvia.

I've taken a quarter of shrooms at least 5 times and been completely unimpressed with them. At this point I don't even bother with them anymore Neutral

LSD is probably my favorite next to DMT. I've taken LSD at least 50 times and though it's not even close to a DMT breakthrough, it's very pleasurable.

2C compounds I find to be mostly stimulants with a some visuals. 2C-E was probably my favorite of the bunch as it was like candyflipping. They are fun, but I do not consider them a true psychedelic when compared with LSD and DMT.

Salvia was okay, I didn't really take much away from smoking it. It doesn't give me the spiritual interconnectedness with the world that I enjoy from DMT and LSD.

Very interesting, because it's been completely the opposite for me. Working with DMT for several years has only sensitized me even more to That. Any psychedelics whether it's mushroomns, mescaline, LSD, etc, anymore they all take me to the same place (but to a slightly lesser degree). I also need much less of said psychedelics now; I can eat 2g of cubes and be literally floored for quite some time, like on the ground/bed/couch completely enveloped. Same with LSD, which last I took was 1/2 of a dalai lama and was in complete dissolution, completely divorced from everyday reality. These psychedelics continue to infuse me with the same essence that DMT has, no doubt there ime.

I know many nexians here have also experienced this sensitization. Although, mileage varies and people will respond and react differently.

When you tried DMT, how much did you try before you tried other substances? Maybe that has some effect on it. I consumed 1.5g of DMT in total before I tried any other psychedelics.

Hey whippits,

I come from just the opposite situation in a sense.

Long before DMT finally found me a little over 2 years ago, I'd had thousands of trips on LSD, hundreds of mushroom journeys, quite a few peyote rituals & many, many Salvia divinorum trips spanning the last 30+ years.

That being said, I've noticed that vaped DMT can get me, in one minute or less, to the same state as where before it would take me weeks or months of meditation, yoga, fasting & then strong, high doses of LSD or mushrooms to achieve.

Perhaps that's why my first-ever experience with DMT was so profoundly familiar & felt like a homecoming of sorts.

Oh, one can indeed "get there" on other psychedelics. One simply must have the time & patience of a saint to do so though IME.

P.S. I've found S. divinorum extracts to be just as intense, or even more intense than DMT in certain ways. It's very different, yet sometimes eerily similar.

About Salvia - I think if you havent tried a few oral doses (chewed leaves or swished tea/tincture) then you havent gotten the full experience. Sometimes it takes a few tries to learn the technique though - there is really a technique for having an effective ceremony with chewed salvia. I used to smoke it a bit and always thought it was mostly just weird.... But when I chew the leaves I have full on conversations with salvia or visit past lives - usually end up having lucid or prophetic type dreams.... I think it is a very misunderstood and under-appreciated plant because people often only know about smoking it. Traditionally smoking it was considered a taboo and they only chewed - after going both routes, I can see why....

That is crazy that shrooms did not effect you so much - since they are so similar to DMT structurally (the psilocybin at least). Just an 8th of those will take me rather deep - more intense for me then DMT actually... It is so crazy how people are all so different in what works for them! My favorite addition to mushrooms is a very small amount of amanita - makes a significant change to the experience, and I feel like even a small amount of the amanita will kinda take over the journey... (I usually smoke the amanita when I combine them this way)

I too feel that DMT has sensitized me even more to other experiences. I have quite insightful and deep experiences using only cannabis these days. But everyone is different so do not measure yourself based off anything you read or hear. Your expriences are your own. With time I do believe DMT use will open you up to other experiences. I used it regularly (multiple times a week) for over a year before the greatest changes happened within me. This could have a lot to do with my ego and my desire to control everything. Keep exploring the other side. Never know what you mind find.

Cannabis sometimes take me pretty deep as well - especially when I combine it with mapacho (amazonian tobacco). I'll just pray to it and ask it a question, then smoke and close my eyes..... Full out of body journeys sometimes, and almost always some inspiration or insight related to what I asked.

Even if I just smoke it to relax or enjoy a walk in the forest cannabis will give me really crazy visuals.
