In this sticky thread I would like to collect the knowledge on Plant Teachers useful for extraction. That means this isn't supposed to be a comprehensive list of dmt containing plants, rather just the Plant Teachers that have shown themselves to be useful for extraction. Please include the latin name and typical yield, standardized to grams yield [i:68c0a80353]per[/i:68c0a80353] kilogram dry material, and comment on what type of extraction technique is needed (but don't include the tek itself!), e.g. "A/B w/ naptha defat", or "STB, no defat needed" or similar. Now it's up to your contributions! What if it really [i:92fda18de4]is[/i:92fda18de4] all about the Hokey-Pokey?

[u:1df4d0ad12][b:1df4d0ad12]Acacias in Australia[/b:1df4d0ad12][/u:1df4d0ad12] Many species of acacia contain dimethylated tryptamines in the roots, bark, and phyllodes of the tree. For psychonauts there are four main acacias of interest (in order of 'best choice'Pleased: [b:1df4d0ad12]Acacia Obtusfolia[/b:1df4d0ad12], known as [i:1df4d0ad12]Blunt-leaf Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] or [i:1df4d0ad12]Stiff-leaf Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] ------------ Contains ~ 0.45% N,N-DMT in the trunk bark this gives 4.5 grams of DMT per kilo of dried plant matter the bark is quite oily so the following extraction techniques are suggested: 1: Acid-Base-Acid-Base or 2: Acid-Defat-Base or 3: Acid-Base-recrystallise or 4: Straight to base-recrystallise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_obtusifolia http://www.worldwidewatt...sgallery/obtusifolia.php [b:1df4d0ad12]Acacia Maidenii[/b:1df4d0ad12], known as [i:1df4d0ad12]Maiden's Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] ------------ Contains ~ 0.36% N,N-DMT in the trunk bark this gives 3.6 grams of DMT per kilo of dried plant matter the bark is quite oily so the following extraction techniques are suggested: 1: Acid-Base-Acid-Base or 2: Acid-Defat-Base or 3: Acid-Base-recrystallise or 4: Straight to base-recrystallise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_maidenii http://www.worldwidewatt...ciesgallery/maidenii.php [b:1df4d0ad12]Acacia Longifolia[/b:1df4d0ad12], known as [i:1df4d0ad12]Golden Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] or [i:1df4d0ad12]Sallow Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] ------------ Contains ~ 0.2% N,N-DMT in the all parts of the tree this gives 2.0 grams of DMT per kilo of dried plant matter the plant is quite oily so the following extraction techniques are suggested: 1: Acid-Base-Acid-Base or 2: Acid-Defat-Base or 3: Acid-Base-recrystallise or 4: Straight to base-recrystallise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_longifolia http://www.worldwidewatt...esgallery/longifolia.php *Note that a.maidenii and a.longifolia have highly variable extraction success. It is documented that both contain the above mentioned levels of tryptamines, however through practice these are rarely seen. A.Obtusifolia is a reliable and abundant species and would be a better choice. [b:1df4d0ad12]Acacia Phlebophylla[/b:1df4d0ad12], known as [i:1df4d0ad12]Buffalo Sallow Wattle[/i:1df4d0ad12] ------------ Contains ~ 0.3% N,N-DMT in the phyllodes this gives 3.0 grams of DMT per kilo of dried plant matter the plant is quite oily so the following extraction techniques are suggested: 1: Acid-Base-Acid-Base or 2: Acid-Defat-Base or 3: Acid-Base-recrystallise or 4: Straight to base-recrystallise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_phlebophylla http://www.worldwidewatt...gallery/phlebophylla.php ***The buffalo sallow wattle is a highly endangered species and exists naturally in only one place in the world. This location has been ravaged over the years by bush fires and the species is susceptable to fungal infections. Cultivation has proven to be difficult. Even looking/walking amongst them from stand to stand has been strongly advised against due to the risk of spreading the fungal pathogen which at the moment is their greatest threat. [b:1df4d0ad12]Please respect this precious wattle.[/b:1df4d0ad12]

I will believe the numbers on longifolia when I see a show of hands saying they got a yield. I noticed on the Entheogenesis website that one of the speakers was giving a talk on previously undiscovered DMT sources in Acacias. Maybe after the conference there might be 1 or 2 to add to the list. Yay. Sorry to interrupt the flow of the thread.
