Okay so I'd thought I'd kick things off with my first experience with DMT.

A few months ago, I had acquired the substance after researching for months about it. It was a very big step for me to take for I had never had a psychedelic experience prior to this. Unless one would call marijuana a psychedelic, I personally don't feel it is, but taken in a nature setting you feel connected to the earth in a way.

I loaded up "the machine" I had made with approximately 10-15mg. I didn't have a scale at the time so I just winged it, which is not the best thing to do. I then hopped in the truck and drove a fair distance into the woods, pulled off onto a thick back road. Parked, took a few deep breaths, and put the vaporizer up to my mouth with the lighter below.

Breathing in the vapour was almost like breathing in heavier air. A lot of people say DMT tastes and smells terrible, but I found it to be quite nice. Holding in the vapour, I could hear my heart pounding very loudly. After 10 seconds or so, I exhaled. Repeated a second time. This is where things started to happen.

Everything started waving, pulsating. The spruce trees turned from green to purple to blue then back to green. The birch trees warped together to form faces, like those of Hawaiian masks. The road turned bright white, covered with what seemed like hundreds of tiny spinning water lilly flowers. All of this was accompanied by an immense body stone feeling, was hard to move. This is when I closed my eyes. The first thing I saw was a red and yellow kaleidoscopic background, in front of it was a 2D beetle with large claws. The beetle then changed into a hexagon shaped head with solid black eyes and tall vertical straw hair. These visions looked familiar, like I'd seen them before. After this the visuals were gone and I opened my eyes to everything being back to "normal" after a total of 3-4 minutes. I was left with tears, because what I had seen was so beautiful and nothing like anything I had ever experienced.

It was much different than LSD which I tried about a month later. One thing with LSD is that you have time to process what's happening. I found I learned more about myself and the universe on LSD, but was left with more unanswered questions on DMT. Comparing the two is like apples and oranges; that's a topic for another day.

I'm still not sure to this day what my two visuals meant. I also still have a lot of anxiety before trips, anyone have advice? Maybe it's there to remind me that this trip is meaningful and to respect it. Anyway. Smile

I find it rather interesting that you had no Psychedelic experience prior to this, yet you started with DMT. I applaud you to some degree.
Some may look down on that decision, but personally, I believe to each their own.
I started first with mushrooms (psilocybin)
Tried out a Research Chemical or 2, then found my way to DMT.
I've been heavily involved with psychedelics for the past 5 years.
Marijuana is a given and a go to for me, not a psychedelic at all in my opinion.
(Also a big fan of "BHO" (Butane Hash Oil)

Sounds like you picked a pretty interesting location, being involved with nature always leads to an overall...."connected" feeling with the world in my mind.
Last time I was in a setting similar to yourself, I watched the trees take life, dance about the dark (yet colorful) moonlit street in front of me.
Decided to dose in a vehicle huh?
I've done the exact thing quite a few times, in quite a few environments.
I'm not a big fan of the vehicle dosing though.
Bit too cramped for my liking.

The Machine!
Revered by many-a Nexian, and Meth/crack user alike. HAHA
However, cheap and efficient method to "smoke" DMT straight.
I have nothing negative to say about it, I myself, am simply not a fan of homemade pipes.
I spent the money on a Vapor Genie, which I procured from a local headshop.
(Didn't want to spend 120$ on the Glass Vapor Genie, and have to wait for it in the mail)
Cost me 60$
When I dose, I open up my Vapor Genie which has a brass screen in it.
Cover the screen with a thin layer of Bud (marijuana)
(this process differs depending on the type of spice I have available)
(if I have a plyable oil/crystal)
I simply add the spice to the top of the bud as evenly as possible.
Close er' up, and start "vaping"
(If I have goo)
I then rip off a small chunk of bud.
I then flatten the chunk, use a toothpick to apply my goo to the chunk.
Then place that chunk goo-side down into the "bed of bud"
Close it, smoke it.

I've never smoked DMT straight, always with bud.
Definitely interested in trying it out though.
I have probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 40+ experiences under my belt
(Sadly, the environment's seem to be what I have the most memory of)
I really wish I would have recorded more of my experiences.
I think its downright amazing that you came to the Nexus to share your expeience with us, thank you very much!!!

PLEASE continue to do research on the nexus, this is an awesome place full of incredible people who are willing to guide you.
I am truly thankful I had the opportunity to experience the mystery that is DMT

If you truly have interest in pursuing DMT in the future, MAKE IT YOURSELF. Incredibly simple, AND rewarding process.
All you have to do...is a bit of research.
(cough cough) Cybs/Earthwalkers Tek.

and if you're still reading this, THANK YOU for hearing out what I have to say!
Vaping it on a bed of bud always seemed like a good idea to me.
Easier for me to acquire bud than "changa" or any kind of herb,

Everyone I've had try my spice complains of the "Shoe" like smell, and the funky taste.
It's seem to have grown on me and my extraction partner.
(as we have had quite a few experiences with it)
The increased heartbeat is something I usually encounter as well on my voyages.
Just seems to come with the territory.
That's funny, I always thought of it as a...heavy...thick...vapor myself.

I find it humorous reading your experience.
I've definitely said the same things.

I think you've managed to describe the effect/feeling pretty well,

In my experience, I've managed to pull around 8-10 grams of spice in the total of my experimenting. I've used a few different tek's, and tried many-a method.

In all of my trials with Psychedelics, I could never get over it.
I have always experienced anxiety.
Just one of those things, some seem to remedy it, while others are left powerless.
Personally, I just remind myself, that I am choosing to embark on this journey, and whatever that is currently going on, IS NOT reality,
Seems to ease my nerves a bit.

Regardless, thank you for reading, and I'll do my best to answer any of your questions!

Travel safely.

And I am you and what I see is me.
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand
The best I can.

Sorry for getting back so late. I want to thank you for your response.

Yeah, it's odd that one would start with such a profound molecule as an introduction to the psychedelic realm. At that time and still to this day I am open minded and intrigued by altered states so I handled it quite well. I found this substance through a chain of research. I first started researching spirituality. Then came altered states. Eventually led to altered states induced by substances. One day, my friend showed me a site called erowid.org. I read this resource thoroughly for months, gained a lot of knowledge about the substances I was interested in. It opened my mind up to the fact that psychedelics and some stimulants aren't harmful at all like I was once told to be true. But one molecule I kept coming back to, over and over; DMT. I asked myself almost everyday, why is there a psychedelic endogenous to our own bodies? That really got me interested. And ever since that first experience, I've been enthusiastic about exploring uncharted territory accessible behind our eye lids.

I would have done it sitting on the forest floor but it was indescribably cold out at -20 degrees Celsius. Once the winter passes, I hope to try psilocybin using lemon tek method. From what I heard, it is more magical in nature.

As for home-made pipes, they're fine in my opinion. Unless they incorporate harmful toxins such as aluminium. I was looking into getting a Vapor Genie, they seem like a quality vaporizer. I'm still adjusting my vapour method each time I use machine. The key is to hold the lighter just right with a small circular motion to vaporize it just right. If you put it too close you burn the stuff and it's rather hard to to hold.

The debate whether the transcendental realm is real or not... I'd like to believe it is. I think that it's a glimpse of what is awaiting us after when we leave our temporary organisms and our consciousness continues on.

Thanks,

-Symphonette
