..for those of you who know the legendary psychedelic 'space-rock/jazz' band Gong, i'm sad to let you know that founder and inspirational wizard Daevid Allen has, a few hours ago, passed to the other side, in Australia, his original country..
(those who don't know Gong, they are a key psychedelic act of the 60s, 70s and beyond)before Gong he was in The Soft Machine..
he was also a great poet and artist..and a good friend..

..knowing Daevid, he will be preparing the flying teapot now..he was always fond of his 'special teas'..
onroute to planet Gong with the pot-head pixies..

in short, a true legend of music, magic and culture..and a beautiful, very funny man..

I can't seem to find any of his poetry outside of his books on the internet. It seems a fit place here to share some of the magic of his words, i'm always in awe of the raw talent that this great continent cooks up.
