250 ohm version, can use them without a preamp, but still a bit quiet direct.

Yep! Excellent headphones, best value for money out there imo... i would like to try the more expensive models but in no rush as these sound great.

The only downsides i've noticed is that they can feel a tad tight and sweaty after 4+ hours of continuous use and i also had to replace the left speaker after the first few years of heavy use. Although that was after hours upon hours of daily listening when i was working in a studio, apart from that they have served me very well.

Although i love my headphones, in the end find i actually prefer feeling the vibrations of the music all over my body so tend to go with speakers (Mordaunt Short 906is) at high volume unless i want to hear fine details with headphones, the sub (XXLS400-DF) i have in my place is truly incredible and needs to be felt!

Got me a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 ohm ones with FiiO E6k headphone amp. Working like a charm. Though I can definately see myself looking for even better audio quality in the future.

Sennheiser HD200. Does the job, had them years.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
