Ohhh man is my neighbors friend a complete igmo! I tried to tell him to read then re-read, but for some reason he still managed to screw up his changa batch... This time it's beyond my help so I'm hoping (for his sake) that someone could take the time to help him get his spice back so he can try again. Here goes:

1) He used the Q2121 tek and ended up with a vial of spice acetone. Instead of following the BLAB tek he figured he could add this tincture directly some IPA and dissolve his 10X caapi for some changa, but I just informed him that according to some research, that this will probably be an issue. I read on here that spice acetone is highly salted and will require a much higher burning temperature, wont this be an issue for smoking the changa?

2) He also messed up his 10X caapi blend. The thought that 1:1 ratio was 1 gram of spice infused with the original gram of caapi that is now 10X... so his ratio is 1 gram of spice and somewhere around 2.3 to 3 grams of enhanced leaf.

3) He got impatient after 5 days of waiting and put his changa blend in the dehydrater overnight.. this resulted in a blend that is hard as a rock and all fused together. He broke this up into little hard chunks and started to cry... then he had a bright idea.. how about if he dissolves his changa chips back in IPA and adds another gram of spice! He was thinking that this would get him closer to a 1:1 ration and once the chips dissolved back into something that isn't like petrified wood, he would allow the whole batch to blend and evap in as long as it needed resulting in a sweet fluffy blend of bliss!... WRONG!

This chips are not dissolving as much as he's stirred, mashed and mixed... the IPA is half evaped and it's just a MESS!

He's worried about the Spice acetone, petrified caapi chips and the ratio of 10X to spice... He just wants to recover as much spice as possible and start over, the right way.

Is there any hope for him? Is there anyone who can give some steps to recover just the spice?

P.S this would make a great sticky on what not to do!

Hi,
I've tried and failed to recover spice from Changa in the past.
I'd say bin it. Start again. Take your time. When you have white/yellow spice in your hand then think about Changa.
PS. Whats an IGMO? ignorant moron?????

You can do a Regular A/B recovery on the material, I have done it and it works, but It pulls the harmalas too and your mixed weight may be hard to gauge.

Your dehydrator comment though may have doomed you........if you try to recover please report back.
