I'm planning on extracting mescaline for thw first time in the near future.
The cacti brews are too much for me to choke down, so i've never had the pleasure of experiencing mescaline.
I was planning on dry tek with lime & limonene, but it my limonene supply is very limited & i see salt contamination may be a problem.

I'm thinking about doing houses resin tek to start, then dissolving the nice clean resin (cleaner than cacti powder) in water, basing with sodium hydroxide, & pulling with limonene, letting the solvent clear, then salting out with vinegar & washing the extract with MEK.

Would it be better to just dry tek or does the method described provide me with any advantages over pulling straight from cacti powder?

dry trek from cacti resin sounds like a nightmare to this cat.

you can prepare tea to be smooth and easy on the stomach. instead of whatever you did for the teas you didn't like, try just using the green flesh peeled and de spined. make a tea (pressure cooker if possible) from just that part and reduce down to 200 ml per foot, let it sit for atleast a night, decant from insolubles and reduce to 150 ml per foot when being consumed as a last act of sterilization

for me, making the purest tea possible is like sculpting from a precious stone. i want to be as careful as possible because theres no second chances. the more attention to detail the more awesome the fruits of the labor are

I'm starting from dried outer flesh & skin chips. I have a very weak stomache, especially when it comes to entheogens which is why i wanted to attempt an extraction this time.

I agree with your statement about brewing very much though Big grin
Brewing aya has become an art lately but i find myself storing brews for long periods of time to forget about the nausea from the last session before i dose again.

The resin as a starting point was not really intended for a drytek.
What i was thinking about doing was preparing the resin or stopping just short of resin & basing, then pulling with limonene & salting out.
I want to avoid dry tek & salt contamination as much as possible but if it's a better suited route for a first time mescaline extraction i'd just dry tek it.

mew has been largely unsuccessfully processing resin further, may your efforts be more bountiful.

its notable that if you ingest extracted alkaloids (especially on an empty stomach) you will experience nausea. there is no getting around this aspect of the experience, the more you take the sicker your launch feels

Looks like i'll go for an a/b then Smile

& yes i know nausea comes with the territory. Extracting & purifying alakloids with all the other plants i've used has always greatly reduced the nausea. It's always present, but removing as much plant matter as possible seems to help my body process it quicker & smoother.

when the cactus is extracted there are alkaloids that a body can ingest.

they react similarly to how cactus is responded to by the body. i find them to not be any less nauseating than making a good tea. often i keep down good tea and purge alkaloids....

the alkaloids retrieved don't seem to represent the cactus's possible experience but this is my perspective.

i can only suggest making a tea( alcohol extract, since you have dried plant) to get the fullest effects possible.

full spectrum and total alkaloids are not the same from what i understand
