I recently had my first experiences with DMT. I didn't have a scale to measure out my first dose, so I made it intentionally light, to get a feel for DMT and what to expect. I extracted my own DMT using nomans tek. It came out mostly white with some slightly off-white. I used the size solo vaporizer and sandwiched the dmt between layers of mj. During my first experience, I began to see moving shapes on my wall. I switched my attention to a picture of the golden gate bridge shortly after it was built. All of the separation cables on the bridge were moving almost as if during an earthquake. They began to line up one after another almost infinitely. Then I came back down and felt pretty good.
My next experience was more intense, but left me with questions. I vaporized approx 40-50mg of dmt. Initially I felt a body high similar to salvia, no hallucinations, but stopped vaping due to an extreme feeling of thirst. That feeling went away along with the body high after about 10 minutes. About 20 minutes later I hit the vape again (just for the mj left in it). I checked for dmt in the tube, but didn't see any. This time there was an intense body high, the feeling of extreme thirst returned along with nausea. Stopped vaping again due to nausea. The texture of the walls in my room were moving. I went to the bathroom to throw up. After puking next to nothing due to eating very little that day, I saw strange shapes or symmetry in the water droplets inside the toilet bowl and portions of my vomit shined gold. For fear of breaking through with my head over a bowl of water, I laid to the side of the bowl and looked out into the bedroom. The individual fibers of the carpet in front of me began to move independently of each other in a whirlpool manner. This eventually dissipated and I came back down and felt very good afterwards. However, I didn't see the vibrant geometric shapes, just a hallucinatory distortion of my normal bedroom. Is this a normal experience? My wife reported seeing a star field where each star had a rainbow effect while on the same batch of dmt. The dmt was extracted from mhrb, using nomans tek. My questions are why am I having trouble breaking through? I'm sure it's probably due to not continuing to vape. Also, are still-present-in-reality hallucinations normal? I've only heard people talk about vibrantly colored geometric shapes, which I still haven't experienced.

You may want to consider closing your eyes after you're done vaping next time. Although it's far from impossible to break through with eyes open, it's incredibly easier to do so with eyes closed. While the shapes can easily enter the open visual field, they appear much more readily behind closed eyes in my experience. Don't get too frustrated with not being able to break through. It took me a while, but I don't regret any bit of the sub-breakthroughs I received along the way. They can be plenty profound as well. "Science without religion is lame. Thanks for the reply. My first experience I didn't close my eyes. I tried closing my eyes the second time, but got no visual distortions, but when I took the second hit after thinking the dmt was gone, I couldn't close my eyes because I had my turning stomach to attend to. My wife did see the star field I described while her eyes were closed. Next time I will have a bottle of water nearby, so my experience isn't thrown off like it was last time. I'll close my eyes and see what happens. When I've vaped dmt, it sometimes gives me an uneasy spinning feeling. Would closing my eyes help with that at all?

You can also try to have a bucket nearby so you can puke right into that if you have to, and not worry about making it to the toilet. Make sure you're not burning the DMT by applying too much heat as that can cause nausea. Burning DMT can also lead to some other unpleasant effects as well, which may account for the spinning. The nausea may have also been the result of the rather high dose of 40-50mg. Closing your eyes may help with the spinning, but one of the essential elements for breaking through is mastering the process of letting go. If you can come to accept the spinning, you may be able to get much further than you ordinarily would have. Also consider experimenting with music which may stabilize the experience as well.
