The lower dose sensations for me are uncomfortable, I like to make the transition quickly.
Yes. Everything ^he said!
I am also sometimes uncomfortable with the lower doses, but I've found that with the GVG I never have problems with them. There's a time and a place for big ones and there's a time and a place for dipping toes in. With an efficient pipe like the GVG, this titration is a bit easier.
I wanted to add to the conversation though, that there's nothing wrong with waiting. I waited a very long time, and even after I first *tried* to break through, I found that it takes a lot of practice and proper method. It is a skill, not just a button that you push, then it's gone. I highly encourage you (as I was encouraged) to purchase a GVG.
When I was reading your post, I really connected. I deal with a lot of anxiety (before trips or just in general in life), so I know 100% what you're talking about. One thing that has helped me is to remember that in about 90% of my journeys, after I take the hit(s), I am calmed. I describe it as a blanket being thrown over me, and all of my concerns are gone. But still, sometimes I just don't feel like I can take the leap. Today for example, I sat down at my shrine, meditated for about an hour (the tibetan bell "music" is still playing in the background right now), but at the end, it just didn't feel "right" so I hopped on my computer and did some other things instead.
It sometimes gets a bit crazy/weird/intense on the "other side," but one thing that I think a lot during trips is that if I do fear something, it's not what I was fearing or anxious about before or going into the trip. So I try to have faith in what I'm doing. I try to trust the medicine. And I try to feel when is the right time. For awhile I was dosing less than once a month (primarily because of that fear and anxiety) but recently I've been doing healthy doses almost daily, or at least every two-three days. This has made me more familiar with the medicine and eased my fears. When I'm doing it often, it's easier to remember why I want to do this and what I get from it.
But with all that said, it's pretty rare that I go for the balls-to-the-wall big doses. I often "break through" on 25-30 mg, but normally I need something closer to 50mg (I think I have a pretty high tolerance to DMT, because those who have used the same crystal and pipe along side me have broken through with 25mg consistently).
So if you really want to break through, and this DMT thing is something that you want to put energy/time into, I highly recommend buying a GVG. I was hesitant to do it with the steep price tag, but I'm telling you man--it's worth it's weight in diamond!!! One of my favorite comments about the GVG is that it would be worth the price as a 1-time disposable pipe. I couldn't agree with that more.
Happy travels, my friend, and I wish you a wonderful day whether it involves DMT or not.
