It may be hard to find specific details because there isn't a protocol like your seeking. Everyone does their own tinkering with it, then shares; and like snozz said there is countless threads filled with that info.
You just have to dive in for yourself and see what works for you.
I'm not sure on the confusion of RAO. I'd just drink the tea and/or do an extract and take the resulting harmalas (although tea seems best for internal cleansing). I work with both, but an enema might be something to consider to if you're particularly focused on intestinal cleansing.
Harmalas/rue/caapi lend themselves well to frequent use in a wide range of dosages. I took it very frequently for both the physical and mental benefits for a long period time. Just do a google search on the specific harmalas themselves to see their possible physical health benefits in this area, as there has been many studies. Going into it I didn't have any known digestive issues so I can't really speak to that specifically, but it does seem to clean you out and could enhance your sense of physical well-being generally.
The dietary restrictions you read about online are often somewhat exaggerated but a healthy diet can do wonders (and a bad diet make them much less effective, imo, and nauseating), especially when you combine it with serious harmala/psychedelic work.
<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"
