The phone used in the study is a Nokia 3110 with a maximum SAR rating of 0.135 W/kg. It is not really a "smart phone" and uses limited bands. For example, North American iPhones hover right around 1 W/kg using GMS (same as the Nokia in the study) as well as UTMS/CDMA. Using WiFi drops the SAR down to about 0.2 W/kg.[

My HAM ht pushes 5W while the mobile pushes 50. Granted, it does not transmit nearly as much. My wifi APs are set to a little over 1W and they are always on. I live near a prominent radio peak which is packed with all kinds of RF.
Bottom line: There's no escaping MW radiation these days if you live in a populated area. Or you're geek. Seems pointless to worry about it. I have other more pressing concerns than ambient radiation.
Did you ever get your Faraday Cage installed, Jamie. I know you're anti-radio waves and all.
