Barbaric mutilation as far as I'm concerned. This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

Thing is you can get circumcised at any age, so why do it to a baby?
Friend of mine had it done in his 30's it was his own choice and not imposed. I'm happy as I am and choose not to. Let people make there own decisions about there own bodies.
Personal choice over imposed will gets my vote.

The only way that you would know for sure if it's easier to keep clean is if you were cut at an age where you've had experience keeping your [then] intact penis clean, and then have it cut and compare cleanliness/hygiene. If you were cut as an infant, then how would you ever know that it's easier to keep a cut penis clean vs an intact one when you have no frame of reference for comparison? Also 'pleasing to the eye' is in my opinion a learned behavior regarding cut vs uncut, imagine a world where circumcision was never done, and everyone never thought of seeing a 'cut end' because the concept was never there. If one were to live there, would they be so willing to think that a cut penis, upon seeing one, would be attractive? Doubtful. A dramatic shift approaches...

This isn't even a thing were I live and I think no doctor here would even consider it without some serious medical condition and I never met or heard of anyone having anything that made such a surgery necessary. Why is this so popular in the US? With Muslims and Jews i understand at least where it's coming from, because of their religious traditions, but why is it so mainstream over there? To my mind it sounds pretty messed up, for whatever reasons. Another good example for "Culture is not your friend." Btw, here is how they do it in Indonesia. (warning: it's pretty graphic). The boys here are at least old enough to understand what is happening.

Unless it was to administer life saving treatment, there is no way on god"s green earth that i would let someone with a sharp object near my penis.

My personal view, regarding myself is that it is what it is. Born in 1969, culturally it is just west people did. Doesn't bother me, in fact probably being uncut would have burdened me with a level of misguided shame where i need it least, due to being different. However, were i to have a boy child, I'd probably not cut the little feller's penis (or have it done, rather) just because it's become less of a cultural norm since i was shoved out. As far as the cleanliness, attractiveness, stimulation issues that are part of this discussion, i only have one, it's cut, and don't know otherwise. This here is the findings of a report that 100 babies each year are killed as a result of circumcision. Is that really worth it, for what amounts to a nonessential body modification? Think of how crappy one would feel if they just had a baby, and they were one of the unlucky ones whose baby died from the procedure! I've also heard it makes sex more pleasurable for both the man and woman (higher sensitivity for the man, and less abrasion for the woman). All of the women who I've been with had no idea I was not cut until I told them. And yes, a couple of which were "experienced" to say the least. So, no way is it worth it, and though the risk is fairly small, no risk of death is worth such an unnecessary procedure. Be an adult only when necessary.

Think of how crappy one would feel if they just had a baby, and they were one of the unlucky ones whose baby died from the procedure! But have a look at this link http://www.circinfo.net/summary.html
It's funny, your link is circinfo.org and mine is .net.... Also regard the infographic at the end of that page. My link above claims that the risk of death in the first year of life from urinary tract infections is actually greater when uncircumcised, and it also claims that penile cancer occurs almost exclusively in uncircumcised men (and that a quarter of the 400-900 die from that). So that would be more than 100 people who die from the penile cancer, urinary tract complications, easily sexually transmitted diseases, HPV transmission to women, etc. So would you rather risk dying as a baby from the circumcision practice or suffer through penile cancer/sexually transmitted diseases? I would much rather die as a baby, but I was cut and fine so maybe that's why I say that. I considered being an actuary for a second but I despise analyzing human lives in such a quantitative manner as above. But it remains that people will die either way, so it really should be a family level choice, if not a personal one. "Think for yourself and question authority." - Leary

Whoa! Not as clear cut as I thought! Yes, quantifying lives sucks, but sometimes it's all that can be done. It does stand to reason, uncircumcised men would likely have a higher average mass than circumcised! But that's just a guess. Be an adult only when necessary.
