Has anyone ever looked into the outernet? It's something I highly support and think most everyone here would too. Right now theyre having a thing on indiegogo for their device. Check it out.

It's not actually the Internet as it serves as a download-only device. This is basically useful for if you are in a remote area and you want to look something up, but don't need to communicate with others.

It's a great idea IMO!

Thanks for sharing! Just saw this the other day. I think its great that we are giving those who don't have accessibility the right tools to do so. Simple, light and seems quite efficient.

I saw Zuckerberg discussing a similar thing, all about giving the Internet to everyone for free spread of information.

Of course, while he didn't say it explicitly, Facebook only invests so much in that with the end goal of having everyone in the world on Facebook! Once that occurs, they can harvest all sorts of data and advertise until the end of time for unthinkable profits. And who doesn't want to be connected...

So this seems like a much better option; I don't get the impression of creating an advertising behemoth.
