My girlfriend and I (let's call her CharChar), found ourselves in Los Angeles recently. We have been together for nearly six years. I have been on a hardcore integration period for a while now (a few months), though this is coming to an end soon as I am about to start journeying again.
I'm going to journey deep and I'm going to journey serious. I do not intend to hide this from my girlfriend, though she is well and truly non psychedelic, she is aware that I am a proponent of psychedelics. She is not aware to what level this has been, what I mean is she is not aware of how important they are to me and how life changing they are...until recently.
As I was saying, CharChar and I found ourselves in Los Angeles recently. I could not travel all the way to Los Angeles without visiting some of my awesome Nexian brothers. One of those Nexian brothers was antrocles. Hold up a minute, I'm in Los Angeles with CharChar and I'm going to visit some nexian brothers...this is awesome.
What better way to school CharChar on the life changing effects of psychedelics? What better way to school CharChar on the fact that the psychedelic community is full of amazing people? What better way to allow CharChar to know she has nothing to worry about regarding my use of psychedelics?...meet some Nexians.
Long story short we visited some of my Southern California Nexian compadres, had lunch, chilled, talked about psychedelic things and non psychedelic things, soaked up some California sunshine, drank kombucha...fun was had by all. Now CharChar realises that the Nexus is not just some site that she always sees me on, it's full of real, amazing people who have used psychedelics with extremely positive, life-changing effects.
Most of us here at the Nexus are aware of ant's sound healing. He said,
"Hey, you've gotta try this while you're here."
An extremely kind and gratious offer, considering antrocles has paid clients and high demand. He booked us in for the following Saturday, awesome.
Saturday came, and CharChar and I took the short drive from our apartment to ant's place (other side of Hollywood). When we arrived the most relaxing and awesome music was playing and our beloved antrocles (the real life dumbledore) greeted us as the door. CharChar and I sat down while ant prepared tea (not that kind of tea, CharChar does not work with plant teachers and I was on integration). I am glad he was preparing tea because on my previous visit to casa antrocles his kettle was broken, and I'm British, so that was unfortunate
Joking aside the Tulasi tea he served us from his Japanese kettle was incredible.
Antrocles told us to pick two crystals each from his table while he went and made some preparations. CharChar and I soaked up the atmosphere of antrocles' place. I say "antrocles' place" but this place is a temple and ant is its curator. So many amazing articles and things to see round every corner, from the full life and travels of our fascinating nexian brother antrocles. CharChar and I threw a roshambo to decide who was going in the hammock...CharChar won.
That's actually pretty cool because I think she would really benefit from taking the hot seat. It's something way beyond what CharChar has ever experienced and I think it would be really beneficial for her. It's cool for me too, because I will meditate on the floor during the session and soak up some of the vibes.
The time had come and antrocles guided us to the healing room. I had seen this room on my previous visit, this place has some serious energy, off the scale energy. Tonight it was prepared for a healing session so the energy was even more intense. Many of you here may well of seen photos of this room, being there is a whole different level. Some of you will have been here yourselves so you know what I'm talking about.
CharChar took up her place in the hammock (this hammock is the most comfortable place on Earth outside of a flotation tank). I lay on the floor underneith the hammock and proceeded to meditate. Because of the nature of the session, I decided to meditate with my eyes open (as crazy as that sounds, there was to be some mad colour going on, so I wanted to make the most of it).
I will not go too much into the process of the session, I don't want to spoil it for people who may do one of these sessions in future, the least you expect the better. The molecules of your body and mind are basically worked on by colour, sound and scent all at once. I meditated underneith using the colours and sounds as my focus while CharChar had the full epic chakra tuneup experience....boom.
After the session CharChar seemed extremely relaxed and content, this is great because that would be extremely beneficial to her. We spoke about plant teachers and antrocles shared some of his incredible wisdom with us. It was a relaxing time and CharChar was fully onboard about the benefits of our plant teachers. My aim will never to be to encourage CharChar to work with plants, I just want her to understand a little more about what they mean to me, if she ever feels drawn to this work then great, but I'm not totally sure she ever will.
After our insightful evening, CharChar and I said goodbye to antrocles and took the short drive across Hollywood to our temporary home for our visit to LA. CharChar said something amazing when we back at the apartment:
"During the session I was not in my body, I left my body for the session and slowly re-entered my body after the session was completed"
Wow, for us here at the Nexus this is something we can relate to. CharChar is not a Nexian and does not use psychedelics, meditate, or explore the mind. In the past she has even showed skepticism about healing and spirituality (though trust me, there was nothing new age about this). For her to experience this, this is big. Over the coming days it seemed clear that CharChar was more relaxed and content with life than I'd ever seen her be. Far from depressed or existentially in crisis, she can think negatively at times and do herself down unecessarily. All of this is now gone from CharChar.
I had an extremely helpful meditation during the session, meditating on the colours and sounds. CharChar had the full experience, with the colours, sounds and scents aimed directly at her. This amazing onslaught worked, and it worked well, and this was without even working with any plant teachers. Next time I'm in LA I'm going to take the hotseat and I'm going to hand over some dollars to my brother antrocles who kindly treated CharChar pro bono. As I said, CharChar's positivity and self esteem have been rebalanced and it is extremely encouraging to see. Thank you for your help antrocles, you have worked wonders.
Our whole three weeks in LA was amazing, from chilling in Griffith Park having lunch next to Moby (who is just as you'd imagine him to be), to seeing Robert Downey Jr stroll past our car when we came out of Gelsons. To having an awesome conversation after a night in the Viper Room with some awesome dude who had an encylopeadic knowledge of Journey (the band). Hey ant, did you ever find out who that dude was? he was great! To enjoying many of the delights this awe-inspiring metropolis has to offer. Yes I love London, but I looooooove Los Angeles. Next time you visit LA, my beautiful nexian brothers and sisters, get in that hammock.
