hey im real lucky been finally traveling throuout south america

my life dream

i am at the end of it now after about a year and a half

i am in Bolivia, my wife has left to spend time with her family before we leave to live in my home country New Zealand
she is Colombian

i am wanting to find a beautiful place for some time of solitude, as traveling all the time its like the experiences are pushed out.

i want to Meditate and diet
and do some serious work on a Novel i have been working on for a time now

i promised my wife i would not touch COCAIN
and i think now in life it would be a bad thing to start buying Grams of Cocain at the dollars
maybe two years ago !

So i plan to buy like maybe a kilo ? of Coca Leaf
and chewing it during my retreat

How much can i eat?
whats a spiritual dose - of course its a stretched out dose hopefully 5-7days chewing
the incas built their empire on Coca leaf building cities in unthathomable situations.

so i should be able to sort through some homework, right?

its a spiritual thing

how much can i eat how much should i eat, i suppose my body will tell me any way.

Hey sidefx!

I've been reading/studying Erythroxylum recently and have some data regarding preparation and dosage.

It can be taken a number of ways..chewed, smoked or as a tea, tinc etc. Clearly chewing is most prominent. It must be mixed with an alkaline substance, like sodium bicarbonate. In Bolivia, and northwestern Argentina, this is relatively common. In the same region, the leaves are also mixed with Trichocereus pasacana or Tri pachanoi, or spp..candicine is shown to alter and potentiate the effects of cocaine(C.M. Torres, pers, comm.) It is also popular to mix cake ash(llipta plant) with the fresh or dried leaves of coca.

There are also a number of aroma plants that are mixed to enhance the experience. Such plants are the leaves of rosary pea(Abrus precatorius & Rhynchosia pyramidalis) and are roasted beforehand to eliminate toxins. This process, or enhancement, is known as misquina.. other aromatic plants include Tagetes spp, which are known as pampa anis. The bark is sold at markets(Plowman 1980, 254.). Brugmansia is also another candidate for mixing..however, this doesn't qualify as a safe plant to work with and should be disregarded as such..it is used with coca still to this day for shamanistic, sedative purposes albeit.

I'd begin with 1 leave or half a leave and just work up from there, whatever you're feeling. A person in SA typically takes a spoonful and chewed for at least half hour, and swallowed gradually.

Any additional info you'd like I'd be happy to forward to you.. good luck!

Thumbs up

Ime, if they're decently-sized leaves, a small palm full. If you have access to a scale of some kind - I would usually weigh 2-3g worth.

I would pluck the tiny little stems off the end of each one (because if your chewing enough with a base then eventually the base + the tiny little stems will begin to dig into your cheek - which is no fun.

After pulling the stem tips off each one, i'll take 2-3 leaves at a time, on top of one another, and start piling them in the side of my cheek, letting saliva build a bit to soften them, then repeat - putting bit by bit - more leaves in - until i have the whole 2-3g in the side of my cheek; working it around into a soft ball eventually - after a few minutes.

Then i'll take a pinch of baking soda (you don't need much base) and throw that back into the corner on top of the ball of leaves, let it sit for a minute or so, then slowly work it around gently, allowing the basic-saliva to build a bit and immerse the leaves. Within several minutes of doing this - much of the side of your mouth where the leaves are should go numb and eventually your entire mouth and/or throat will go numb, for the most part - you'll know it's working then.

Also for tea, id typically use 4 or so grams, get some water boiling, throw the leaves in a cup and steep the leaves for about an hour and put in the fridge.

By that time, it should be warm. Drink and enjoy. It taste very spinachy/green tea like. VERY tasty. Feels very nice when you drink; an altogether different feel than chewing, obviously - not as strong of an effect, but definitely a nice pick-me-up like coffee but without the jitters and all that. I would drink it everyday for the taste and health benefits alone.

Regarding the overall experience of both I stated above - either is great for activities or work where your going to be outside. I would love chewing 2-3g then go do yard work or hike over to the field/woods next door and gather wood. One of the most prominent effects that i've felt with coca is the immediate feeling/ability to breathe much easier and more efficiently. Globulin is apparently the alkaloid that is responsible for it's cardio-tonic effects and is why it's given out generously in SA for altitude sickness.
