I'll give it a shot if you bring me a fresh diaper and put the used one in the rubbish bin for me. Very happy

Individual hardly can do much alone. Individuals need supporters, people need to listen. People leaded by individual can change the world.

This used to be a huge conflict for me. I wanted things, especially social issues (both on the personal and cultural levels) to change instantly by having people compromise, and my thought was that if it couldn't happen, then it would never happen.

But my big realization, which my father actually helped me come to, was that change comes slowly. There's that great cliched saying:

Quote:
Rome wasn't built in a day

which is pretty accurate. It's rather discouraging when you start to try to change the world as it doesn't happen quickly. But you can always have an influence eventually, with some more than others.

Also it's a matter of perception. Maybe you can't cure hunger in Africa, but you can brighten up the person behind the counter at the coffee shop's day by smiling and being nice. Individually and sometimes even collectively we only have the power to do certain things, but it's always better to improve someone's life than no one at all (utilitarianism).

Each individual DOES change the world, and can't not change the world. It's HOW you change it that is important. The quality of your consciousness determines the affect you have on your environment.

In line with a few other posts I feel changing yourself is the most beneficial thing you can do. I feel like people need to "find" themselves before real change can happen. I almost feel like the internet and lack of real social connections nowadays may drive people to change by realizing how alone and dissatisfied they are.

In the end it is a matter of personal choice and being who you want and think you should be and hoping others find who they are. It all will fall in line in a way from there. Kinda kard for me to sat whether it will happen sooner or later but I feel the time and place and is just about here where we have the capacity to change our ways on a species wide level. Will this be in our lifetimes? Who knows

The world is fine and does not need to be changed.
However, it's up to each of us to take upon ourselves to make it a better place.

I like to think I do my best. I do take a lot of pride from a few things that I have done and that I know they helped young teens as well as some adults to live a better, happier and more enjoyable life. It's incredibly positive to have kids and teens come up to you and tell you that you made a difference.

But my own actions are limited. I don't do it for the pride & glory, I do it because I believe this is how I should live my life, positively influencing others.

In my own community, act as a "counter power" to mainstream media and uber materialistic way of life. It gives value to my mistakes and errors, by doing that and using my own experience to help out, I know my darkest hours were not all for nothing.

I don't believe the world has to be changed, I don't believe we (or the world, for that matter) need to be saved. I'm saddened that there is so much fear, hatred, anger and violence in the world. But I also understand that fear, hatred, anger, violence are a part of who we are.

We will never remove those from the world, but trying anyway is what makes us more than just animals.

Whether we are conscious-aware of it or not, life is natural change. Whether we take part within that paradigm or not, is up to us. Do it. Be it. Pay attention.
