I have used Salvia once or twice in the past but haven't really gotten anything from it except for the "pins and needles" effect. Since working with DMT, I've really gotten into the idea of plants having "spirits," (or whatever word you'd like to use), being able to communicate with them, etc. I feel that I have established a relationship with DMT, as well as the rituals I have surrounding its use, so that every time I do blast off, it's not necessarily a matter of me "doing a drug," but rather, having an experience with a plant ally/teacher. The similar personification of Salvia I've seen, both here and in other places, is attractive to me in this regard.

Long story short, many strange life occurrences and sleepless nights spent researching topics of all varieties on the internet eventually led me to the topic of Salvia. I procured some from a local headshop and decided yesterday morning to begin experimenting. I placed 25mg (15X) on a bed of vaped weed/ash in a bong, stated my intentions, etc. I hit it twice with a torch and inhaled everything, tasting the Salvia very distinctly. At first I thought it wasn't working and I was just a little stoned, but then strange things began to happen. I felt weightless, euphoric, light-headed, giggly. Suddenly I felt a presence. I remember distinctly moving my head from left to right around the room following this "presence," and finally I realized that who/what it was that I was following...was Salvia? I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense, it's hard to put into words. My head stayed cocked to the right and I was staring at one spot in space, as if transfixed by some sort of invisible energy that was hanging there. "Come play with me," she said, as a grin began to appear on my face.

"No way," I said out loud. "Seriously?" It was at this point I started to realize what happened, and she was taking hold. I grabbed the baggie and scale, weighed out 50mg and put it in the bowl, the whole while laughing hysterically and singing "50 milligrams" over and over in all sorts of strange voices. I stated my intentions once more, banished fear, and hit the bong. This time it only took one hit to to get everything. It's hard for me to say how long it took before she started really taking hold (anywhere between 20-60 seconds), but when she did, brothers, she did not let go easily. I now understand why Salvia is sometimes referred to as a "dissassociative." It wasn't like a threshold DMT journey that, while still unimaginably intense, still leaves you feeling somewhat lucid, aware of yourself, etc.

I was gone. Not here anymore. No more me. No more anything. Patterns began to form out of the corners of my eyes, my desk and computer reappearing the few times I focused on what was in front of me. However, most of the experience was almost a feeling of melting. It's hard to speak of a "body load" because I didn't even have a body as far as I was concerned. There's very little to say of the peak of the experience. All I remember was towards the end, there was a feeling of ascension, upward motion, which finally culminated in me opening my eyes, raising my arms, and screaming "YESSS!!!" at the top of my lungs, unaware that I was back in reality, and probably had just woken up a neighbor or two.

The amount of energy I felt was unreal. I got up from my position and literally started running around, hopping up and down, laughing hysterically, rolling around on the floor. Absolute bliss. My thoughts began to race - I almost felt manic. Suddenly everything was great and awesome and fantastic. I got the sudden urge to make a vegetable juice, but then I realized I was still tripping pretty hard and could barely make it to the bathroom without supporting myself on the wall the whole way there, so I thought it might not be a wise idea to play with knives and a blender. This thought made me burst out in laughter, barely able to even stand on two feet anymore. I laid down for a few minutes and then went for a walk, basking in the afterglow of the experience.

As far as what I took from the experience? A definite shift in perspective. Not as jarring or emotional as a high dose of mushrooms or DMT. More of a "Here's what you're doing wrong, and here's what you should do" type of thing. Not even a stern warning - just a gentle prod. The strangest part of the whole experience was the sense of energy, or presence that was around during the whole thing. I never necessarily doubted the whole concept of communicating with plant spirits, etc., but once you experience it yourself...damn.

Thanks for reading. Smile

Hey again. Smile Nice little write up.

Through all my experiences with this plant, I can say(for me anyways) I've never had the pins and needles 'effect.' This must differ from person to person..anyways, I think its great that you now have this opportunity to explore this plant.. to see what she is all about. Afaik, salvia is one of the greats to grow and develop a relationship with. Not just from personal experiences, but other peoples too. She seems to have a very open and welcoming bond with us humans..and with the right perspective, its quite simple to earn a new friend. Thumbs up

I would like to express caution also, especially for much higher extracts such as 40x, or even 30x. At these levels, its nearly impossible, let alone unsafe to be up walking around. Though these extracts are available to use, with practice, a breakthrough can be easily managed with a little consistency. In my experience, 20x alone was enough to breakthough the salvia realm..and highly lit it was IMO-E. She enjoys a little playfulness, also, yes. This is one of the reasons why I hold salvia sacred in my heart..due to its rapid sensual effects.

Would you say you broke through something? Or a pending goal?

Howdy.

The pins and needles effect that I experienced was well over three or four years ago, back when I didn't necessarily approach the experience with any sort of respect or intent...it was basically just another way to get f***ed up, and apparently that's all I got out of it. I would like to start growing a plant myself in the near future in order to further my relationship with it. I'm also interested in cultivating my own Mimosa Hostilis plant as well, but I tend to get overwhelmed and flustered when I take on too many projects at once, so one at a time for now.

I doubt I'll get up to 40x to be honest. The headshop I purchased it at had 15x, 25x, and 50x if I remember correctly, but the effects I felt at 50mg of 15x make me believe that going that high isn't really even necessary - it seems that this plant has some very solid effects at threshold dosages. As far as being up and walking around...I only got up after I was sure I was "back." There were still some pretty heavy visuals and body load, but I was mentally cognizant, knew that the effects I was feeling were the result of ingesting a substance, knew that "I" still existed, etc. Plus the fact that I was able to ascertain that playing with knives was a bad idea shows that there was some shred of logic still inside my skull, because I've done much less intelligent things while tripping before.

As far as the playfulness and sensuality...I'm not sure what to think of it. It was jarring, for sure. DMT definitely has a similar effect as far as making one aware of "energies" in the room, but with this experience, no lie, I was talking to thin air, moving my head around the room, following her. I've never felt any sort of presence this significantly before, not on mushrooms, DMT, Cannabis, or anything else. It really kind of shook my perspective on what "is" and "isn't" there (this goes hand in hand with the PM I sent you recently).

I'm not sure if what I experienced could be considered a breakthrough, honestly. There was definitely a period of ego dissolution, but there were also moments where "I" popped back in during the peak. Mind you, this was done with all the windows open, full daylight. Next time I may try in the dark and see what happens, but I always like to experiment with these substances during the daytime. For some reason it makes me feel a little less "insane" the first couple times I try it. Next go, I'll probably start with 50mg again in the dark and see what happens.

As far as administration...how do you typically smoke it? Have you ever tried vaporizing it? What other herbs can you lay it on top of? I feel like the vaped weed might have muddied the experience a little bit and was thinking of trying something like oregano, just to create a solid base. Plus smoked oregano actually tastes kind of good. Cool

As far as smoking salvia, there are far greater options..such as growing(as you mentioned)and chewing the leaf, or making a tincture, extracting crytals etc. Some of those techniques require a lot of cuttings, though. Having a salvia experience in the dark can lead to quite the breakthrough IMO-E. I can relate to this from an experience with salvia near to midnight, out near the quiet beach surrounded by hills and trees..which can be read through my BTSDR subforum.

I only have experience with smoking and blending thus far. I've mixed other plants such as nicotiana and passiflora..however tobacco has a very mind bending effect with salvia and I cannot recoomend it due to the dangers of nicotine, whereas passiflora can actually improve the experience..assuming the MAOI's can play a role in extending the trip, I've found passionflower actually does, and certainly smokes well enough as a base for salvia. The experience lended itself as a more peaceful, relaxing and tranquil trip.

Afaik, cannabis serves well as a base and many Nexians swear by it..however I don't have this experience and cannot relate. I would think THC would enhance some of the effects. Oregano is not a very good choice IMO. It induces coughing with me just by itself. I've also found mullein to work to some degree and virtually has zero effect on salvia.

I'd also like to suggest harmalas for a possible extension and enhancement within salvia space.

Take care!
