My interest is in creating a large tripping chamber/room--especially focused and tailored to use with Salvia Divinorum--and also for other entheogens in heroic and meditative doses, primal release therapy, relaxation, and whatever else one can think of.

I was curious if anyone has built one of these or knows of one (especially a larger one).

Comments, suggestions and questions welcome...

I do not currently have the means or space to build something like this, but I was on a lot of mescaline in a isolation tank once. It was the most moving experience I have ever had.

I used to try meditation a lot, but it never worked particularly well because of all of the physical distractions. I have now come to realize that sensory deprivation areas are the ultimate form of meditation. They truly allow us to dive deep into our minds in ways that don't seem possible to average people.

I do not want to "put down" normal people who practice meditation in their bedroom or wherever. It is better than not doing it at all. People have done it for thousands of years with much success. But the isolation tanks/sensory deprivation rooms are really the key for diving deep. One day I plan to purchase a really good iso tank or build one for myself.

With the room that you're building, won't you still be able to feel the foam/padding? In the tank you are suspended in the body temperature water so you really don't feel anything, but that salt water requires a much bigger investment of money and time.

Sounds like ..[a padded cell]Twisted Evil .. or ..[rubber room]/.. like they used in past mental hospitals to prevent the patient from self harm....

I agree that on a strong enough dose of salvia extract..it would make sense to use this safe room ..especially if tripping alone!

something like this? Cool

i nver built one but have some experience building music studios, to get a room as quiet as u can the smaller the space the easier itll be. you can to look into diffusers which looks like those wedged things on the walls from the video to help deaden the reverb, and any absorbant materials will help like rugs, pillows,blankets,curtains.. hardest thing is the soundproofing. Has lots to do with what materials u use basically the more mass the material the better it will block sound from coming in/out. if you got the means building a room within a room works great. Ive had success placing up drywall and sandwiching rockwool which is cheap and effective then some green glue for the wedges/corners. Theres bunch of other materials and methods..heres a good site that helped me lots http://www.noisehelp.com/soundproofing-walls.html
