Im probably not the only one thinking/saying this....but WTF is with the taste of DMT...it taste like a harsh chemical taste that i cannot even inhale for it to work properly... I go for the 3rd hit,..and cannot blastoff sufficiently simply because the nastiness...most of my friends would smell/taste DMT smoke and look at me like WTF AM I SMOKING? Is this bad? Some changa pulled with limonene and evapped onto gentle herbs, like Caapi leaves, rosebuds and lavender flowers, tastes exquisite and is extremely gentle to smoke. Just another option worth exploring. I have only ever smoked my own prepared this way, so, unfortunately, I have no point of reference for whether or not something is bad. But, something to consider! Some things will come easy, some will be a test

Maybe your DMT has naphtha traces in it (did you let it dry really thoroughly? and its a good idea to redissolve it in pure alcohol/IPA/acetone and evap again to remove naphtha traces.)
Maybe your naphtha is impure and has some nasty additives (did you do an evap test on it and/or looked at its msds? In any case, next time look into limonene extractions).
Maybe your smoking method is incorrect and you are burning dmt instead of vaporizing it. (how did you smoke it? Its really really really recommended to get a vaporgenie)

Burnt spice has a nasty, acrid, “burnt rubber” kind of smell and is extremely harsh. Properly vaporized DMT has almost no smell and is very smooth and mild. gibran2 is a fictional character. Any resemblance to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental.

I love when the smell gets in my hair, in my clothes--a very subtle scent--when I smell it on me and I am out and about, it's my naughty little secret. I love when we spend a morning together, I go out for the day, come home at night and the smell still lingers... It is a smell as fond as a lover's smell. I love smoking in bed and then my bed smells like DMT. Heaven!! But the smell itself is unlike anything else that one could possibly smoke... Good point, too, burning it is HORRENDOUS! Take care not to burn anything. Some things will come easy, some will be a test

I vaporize a dose, take it in one hit, hold it long enough so that when I exhale there really isn’t any smoke/vapor remaining. No smell at all anywhere. gibran2 is a fictional character. The time I was first introduced to dmt the smell n' taste got me from the start.. Extremely unique. Especially when you are sitting in a room and not partaking yourself but right after someone has vaped it and the smell travels over your way.

Even the harsher taste of unwashed spice can be deceptively overcome by a good changa blend. Just a little mint in the menstruum will turn it from acceptable to pleasant, I was shocked by how much so. It doesn't just cover it up, it actually gets rid of the harshness. And second/third me as saying that burnt spice is the taste of death. Which it is, burnt spice is destroyed spice, and destroying spice = the massacre of virgin childs ¤ø¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸„ø¤º¨

When I use the bong and dont get ALL the smoke in one inhale, thats when things start to smell. With the GVG I get no smoke and inhale all the vapor. I hold that pull in as long as possible and I exhale nothing. There is no taste either, just like inhaling normal air(the begining of the vapor I feel a bit of warm air) Burnt spice smells and taste horrid, and the feeling in my lungs and mouth tell it. Perfect your smoking tek.

I have to agree with people not liking burnt spice (i doubt anyone would). I burnt it on my first few tries and it was like inhaling smoke from a burning tire. I do not have a VG, but a bong works fine as long as you don't go crazy with the flame.

Aha, gammagore, I take my sweeeet time hitting the bong, slowly, cautiously. I also have a wicked snout!! It's the same as burning lots of incense and smelling that in your hair, clothes, etc. The no-cooking lifestyle tends to lead to a more sensitive nose... and an extreme awareness of anything combusting. Like that time I ran outside in a panic to get my neighbors because something was burning and I couldn't figure it out... He was having a barbecue. It is the Scent of the Other Side. With changa, there are plenty of herbs burning, so they will have a fragrance, too... Some things will come easy, some will be a test

Clean DMT has a much milder more 'friendly' scent if vaporized correctly. It's certainly not what I would call offensive, just unusual, but still a lot more faint. Art Van D'lay wrote:Smoalk. It. As I read it, the thread isn’t just about the smell of DMT – it’s also about the smell it leaves behind after vaporizing (in one’s clothes, hair, room, etc.) See post #6 in particular and my response. A properly vaporized dose of DMT (not burned and inhaled and held until most vapor has been absorbed) will leave little to no smell behind. gibran2 is a fictional character. For some reason this one batch of changa I made tasted like chips and salsa, and smelled like a hotel. I think I have smell/taste memory synesthesia or something though, because this sort of thing happens a lot to me (I swear pecans and dates tastes like pancakes) Sounds like the OP was burning it though... (btw this thread is 4 years old)

I understand if one holds in the hit till its totaly absorbed there will be less smell..but thats holding ones breath a [[LONG time!] and not everyone can hold it that long... When i vaporize dmt my pipe bowl retains a strong odor from vaping [acacia dmt]and the smell will remain in pipe for weeks on end... I am using acacia tincher and make shure the grain alcohol it compleatly dried before lighting it up.. I have even evaporated my alcohol tincher compleatly to reduce any trace amounts of napatha then re desolving it back into grain alcohol.. Maybe it smells more because its ..[acacia].. with a small amount of NMT in it?? I never tryed the dry ice method to remove NMT ..maybe that could reduce its odor it it was more pure dmt? But ive read many reports claiming dmt smells like burnt plastic and my spice has a strong pungent oder after vaping and i must use air freshener to rid it fast from the room..? To make my spice cleaner would be nice...
