http://gizmodo.com/flyin...us-youre-dead-1626274734*strokes chin* Hmm, yes. Mr. Ellison seems to have taken an Anthony Braxton-like approach to music composition for this and the past three albums, as opposed to his earlier work, which is reminiscent of Guillermo Scott Herron's MPC works. And how about that animation?? ... BEYOND stoked to hear what it turns out like... honestly a little underwhelmed with most of Until the Quiet Comes. Cosmogramma and LA are incredible though... especially Cosmogramma, just for how seamlessly it blends together all of those seemingly unrelated styles of music. Truly innovative and expertly produced stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diyeJ0t5v30Golden diva tho... really? I wasn't too impressed with Cosmogramma. I have LA and Until the Quiet Comes on vinyl, but my favorites were Reset, and 1983. With his jazz sensibilities, you'd swear you were listening to a Ninja Tune artist; then again, his bass guitar tracks remind me of squarepusher. Reset is by far my favorite, then its hard to say since I have tracks on different albums that I love. So its kind of a toss up depending on my mood. I remember taking the packaging off and listening to Reset for the first time...pure sex.

theyre all good, reset is definitely no exception... tea leaf dancers and massage situation man oh man. but yeah bass wise his bass is definitely reminiscent of tom jenkinson. especially like ultravisitor era. not sure if he has him do all of the bass, but on cosmogramma and until the quiet comes thundercat did at least some of the bass, and has some sweeeeet solo stuff of his own. Hoping he has a presence on this new one as well. Like space age, glitchy stevie wonder grooves or something... executed perfectly. Dudes got skills. benzyme, you say ninja tunes... have you ever heard of a fellow named luke vibert (wagon christ)? Read a fairly short but interesting essay on cosmogramma the other day. If anyone cares its here>> https://docs.google.com/...QTQ/edit?hl=en&pli=1I'm pretty interested in hearing the new stuff when it comes. I'm not really familiar with the artist but like some of what I've heard.
