My one experience with nitrogen narcosis (which was probably compounded by light hypothermia) wasn't nearly as interesting. I remember looking at air meter on my BCD and realizing that I couldn't understand what the numbers meant. I recognized them as English, but there was no meaning of any sort associated with them.
My partner asked me how much air I had left and I just sort of blankly stared at them, shivering, before shrugging, and so we made a bee-line for the surface.
Nothing particularly rapturous about that.
