Burning the locals, abusing the tourists, terrifying the help.

Hi all,

Thought I'd share this great piece of journalism from the UK's Independent newspaper on studies being conducted into the effects of LSD on humans - the first such study in decades. Let me know what you think!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

Why was I not informed of such a study?! I could've been a great volunteer Pleased

In all seriousness, this is a step in the right direction. Nutt has his heart in the right place most of the time and I think people are starting to the see the bigger picture in all this.

I hope this leads into more studies of this nature, as the more sound research done leads to more people waking up to the healing properties of these substances.

Thanks for the link, Shanghigher

You can still volunteer - the main part of the study takes place in the Autumn Pleased

I actually ended up donating to the study, which all interested Nexians can do here: http://www.drugscience.org.uk/

I also popped the guy an email saying thanks for the work, and any time he needs a volunteer, drop me an email Very happy

And yeah, Nutt has the right idea about all of this. Getting the study off the ground is a major step in the right direction, and could really start to change opinion towards a more proactive stance on psychedelics as a whole.

Just as a talking point, which Nexians rank LSD over DMT in terms of helping with depression, and visa versa? Or would you put another psych over both? Personally, I'm very much a take the ticket and go for the long assed ride type guy as it gives me a lot longer in that space to consider life, the universe, and everything.
