So I see it's pretty much agreed on that a highly bio-available form of magnesium can help jaw tension, but IME, this was only a temporary fix of a symptom. One insight I've had from LSD while practicing mindfulness meditation is that much of the muscular tension I've felt is a reflection of my subconscious stress at the time. I was doing it so often it turned into a subconscious habit! Bringing mindful awareness into the body through the sensation of the breath helped more than I ever could have imagined, not only with jaw tension, but with other physical reactions to stress (including un-natural breathing as well).

I notice almost no jaw tension on stimulants but I have felt it creep up emergent from thoughts that would "normally" make me anxious. How stimulants have this effect is yet another question for me.

Molly always makes me stress in the jaw. I need to try some magnesium, methinks. I used to sleep with a night guard because I was grinding my teeth in my sleep. I don't do it so much anymore but it's something that you can't control. You are me and I am you, I'll always be with you...

I used to sleep with a night guard because I was grinding my teeth in my sleep. I don't do it so much anymore but it's something that you can't control. That's sometimes a symptom of anxiety or stress disorders. If you notice yourself grinding your teeth at night, maybe some self-reflection is in order. I know that when my anxiety gets really bad, I'm more likely to grind my teeth as I sleep. Nocturnal grinding can cause damage to your teeth, as well as your TMJ, so if it's a problem for you, definitely look into it. "There are many paths up the same mountain."

I could've done with reading this thread before I had my days with mandy and charlie, haha. I hardly ever get jaw clenching with psychedelics, but on MDMA/coke, I look like a maniac waving my jaw around like a weapon of mass destruction. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” ― Hunter S. Thompson
