So after months of smoalking pretty regularly and getting to know DMT and changa very well, I've decided to take a break from the smoked experience and I want to begin working with ayahuasca. I'm at the point where I'm desiring more life changing and integral/shamanistic experiences. Before I do this though, I have a few questions..... it deals with ayahuasca vs. Analogs. I'm leaning toward chacruna as the plant of light... but does anyone like mimosa more? I know its higher in DMT content but if the experience is very different from classic aya I may just use the chacruna. Also..... I am planning on working very regularly for a few months with the brew. Have any of you worked with it many times a week for months? I don't want to lose myself in this reality but my integration process is where I want it to be. I guess my main concern is whether any of you have actually had negative effects from regular ayahuasca use. Thanks beautiful people.

Since chacruna is really the ingredient that shamans use in their brews, me personally, looking for an as authentic of an experience as possible at home, I would not use mimosa and would stick to the tried and true.

I was just reading last night something on, as you mentioned, the intense strength mimosa can add. A common ayahuasca brew is said to have roughly 30mg worth of DMT in it when brewed traditionally, whereas if non-traditionally brewed there may be 50-100mg in one cup of tea.

The point of the trip is to heal and mend, with TOO much dmt in the mix, you may just end up losing your tail for 8 hrs and step too far off the deep end in the process.

I would definitely start with chacruna. It's the most traditional, and I think it's a great stepping stone into the world of Ayahuasca. That's not to say that other preparations (mimosa, acacia, chaliponga, etc) don't have there merits: they are absolutely worth exploring, but you have you whole life to do Ayahuasca. There's no need to jump right in the deep end.

Thanks guys I think I'm just going to go with my gut and use chacruna. I'm pretty excited to start this, as the idea came from nowhere and felt kind of like a signal Razz To be honest, the first few times I'm SO looking forward to the purge. I've had such a horrible diet for years.... I need her to help me clean my body.

I would say forget chacruna...you might have trouble even getting chacruna to produce a fully active brew.

I actually do prefer mimosa to chacruna..and also prefer chaliponga.

I gotta second Jamie's opinion on this issue-Mimosa beats chacruna any day. At the moment, I am not willing to use chacruna in my brews because of its highly variable alkaloid content. Some batches are so ridiculously potent that only 5-10g of dried leaf would slam you ego first into a full blown collision with the Godhead. Some batches are so incredibly weak that even 100g of dried leaf would produce little more than threshold effects. I highly suggest you either a) perform an extraction on your chacruna to gauge the alkaloid content, b) get the chacruna from a trusted source which provides dosage advice, or c) use something with a more reliable alkaloid content than chacruna. I would definitely suggest using mimosa as your light source as it is far cheaper and moar reliable than chacruna. IMO I think that chacruna is overrated as an admixture and that you should go for mhrb as you would have a far reduced chance of accidentally overdosing or underdosing on DMT.

Safe travels,

Wow I didn't think it varied THAT much thanks for the insight! I was thinking maybe a mix of challiponga and mimosa both and just use half the amount of each.

I definitely trust Jamie's opinion on this as I know you've taken aya more times than I can count on ten hands. I have a super sensitive stomach and I couldn't keep pharma down for more than twenty minutes..... I do want to purge but I want to be able to at least let the actives absorb first. If I do some tannin binding I won't fully eliminate this cleansing will I?

chacruna caused more sickness and vomiting for me then either mimosa or chaliponga, due to the huge amount of leaf material present I think.

Tannin binding lowers potency for me..so keep that in mind. It's really not hard to keep a brew down long enough.

I agree with Jamie 100%.

Chacruna is a problem, it is very frustrating lying in bed all nauseous and nothing happens except for the harmalas.

Well I decided to go with red caapi and mimosa since chaliponga is difficult to find. Taking the plunge a week from tomorrow for the first time!

Just out of interest, Tyler, have you gone down the LSD/Mesc/Shrooms routes at all?

I haven't tried Aya yet as I'm in no rush, but the regular three have worked wonders for me in the past in terms of healing - especially mescaline. I seem to remember you were taking the DMT to break addiction problems, and just wondered if you'd fleshed out those paths before.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!โ€

Yesss I actually cultivate my own mushrooms, and I've done LSD over 20 times Razz I wouldn't ever just jump into Maya without being prepared. The addiction part of my life is a thing of the past and I'm hearing the call of the vine very audibly
