The DEA is not alone.
NIDA for teens: Drug Facts - Marijuana.
(White House) Office of National Drug Control PolicyQuote:The Administration steadfastly opposes legalization of marijuana and other drugs because legalization would increase the availability and use of illicit drugs, and pose significant health and safety risks to all Americans, particularly young people.
This is obviously misinformation; equal to arguing that regulating cigarette sales would make cigarettes more easily available to minors

.
Quote:Confusing messages being presented by popular culture, media, proponents of “medical” marijuana, and political campaigns to legalize all marijuana use perpetuate the false notion that marijuana is harmless. This significantly diminishes efforts to keep our young people drug free and hampers the struggle of those recovering from addiction.
I don't believe that anyone is completely free from all drugs.
... "
hampers the struggle of those recovering from addiction" ignores that many drugs are legal and unstigmatized; often those drugs are more harmful than Cannabis. Whiskey commercials, pill commercials, beer sales, and secondhand tobacco smoke all hamper the struggle of those recovering from addiction, but they are legal and unstigmatized.
Reminds me of
this.
