long story short I think ? is being used in the later stages (7 steps) the first half is a detox... the Yogis ect say true meditation is conciousness in an altered state where the Ego doesnt dominate... anyway this company is non profit, but the "thing" with no name is backed by some pretty big names (including einstein).... I had not heard about TM until I read this thread, I watched the videos and did some research online. It appears to be a positive thing to get into and start. I live in the UK and found a teacher quite near to me. The question is. Is this worth the money to invest in? its quite expensive. but it says you must learn one on one with a certified teacher. They say at the TM website that it cannot be learned from books or videos, really? is this just a way of making a fortune from it. anyway, I could get access to the money needed for the course. Meditation is one of the few things in life that is truly free, and if you have any questions about your practice their are various forums, including this one, where you can receive help for free. Please don't pay to go to a TM class. I really enjoyed the Jim Carrey commencement address, but I am biased for anyone who charges a fee to help find "enlightenment" when all the answers are inside yourself already. Rather than TM, why not look up some free kriya yoga information or read about being mindful (dont pay for kriya info either). I also suggest looking at the Vedas and the Gita which can be found for free. Establishing your own practice will likely be far more rewarding than anything a TM teacher could show you. I also suggest reading some old posts from "Rising Spirit" and "joedirt" on this forum. There is some priceless information available from those two to be found.

Quote: "thing" with no name oh but you see, it has a name. its called Om or Brahman or Atman. this ancient Vedanta scripture is not faith based. the Upanishads were in the woods of ancient India hammering this stuff out thousands of years ago. they ventured out into consciousness and came back with these understandings and truth. @yamma1 look into Alan watts on how to meditate. get a translation of essential Upanishads scripture, and of course keep DMT on hand. ALSO Jim Carreys speech has hit my heart chords completely. It feels familiar , for good reason.
