I agree, and the last thing we need is more "pineal gland" rumors to go around misguiding all our little children. I feel any misinformation needs to be cleared up. But its expected, as psychedelics are not as well known about as they are to us.

I agree with a (friendly ) letter to help her to keep her journalism accurate. Although i don"t have a problem with her using the words "mind blowing" when listing her ayahuasca facts. Having said that she is a journalist and an author so i would have thought that her vocabulary would have stretched to something a little more literary. Using mind blowing to describe something wouldn"t be out of place in OK magazine but i guess it is no crime to use it. She hasn"t murdered anyone (apart from the English language).



The upside of this could be that if everything goes any more tits up than it already is (ie the war on drugs, the social and eco-system in the Amazon, young people being ill informed about psychedelics and then perpetuating myths to their mates), we can all blame Amber Lyon.

Part of why the site is taking off is that they post on Facebook regularly. I have sent a link to this thread to Joe Rogan's business partner, Aubrey Marcus, who has a big following, and is very active in the psychedelic world. He just posted an announcement that reset is live, and I sent this link, so hopefully a few people will take a look.

Well, look at that, Aubrey already responded! I quote him here:

My mind blowing facts about ayahuasca:

1. It is illegal in most countries.
2. It allows you to fold space and time.
3. It doesn't taste like chicken.
4. You get to see snakes!

If the key were the heart and intention behind the message then there would be no need for harm reduction. Aubrey, come on man. Using correct information is key to proper positive change. Which this site has done through helping others to know what is fact and what is conjecture.

I was actually considering signing up, just not sure how secure the site is. I also don't know how good I will be at juggling two sites. Hopefully Ambers won't turn into the Rogan forum, that would be a shame.

Back to "Simplifications" - you could deem every simplification to be an error of some sort, because its not telling the whole truth.

I think part of my reaction was due to the fact, that i believe it is more appropriate to first acknowledge a massive and positive contribution and then to ... perhaps privatly, try to better the content available.

Why focus on creating barriers first, if a partnership would be far more productive?
Have you written amber lyon about her errors? If not, i don't see any real reason to pick her site apart in public.

Am I dumb by not understanding a broadcasting public neon light theater about something that is completely illegal and very much repressed by international scheduling? People go to jail for everything this site is about.

What is the agenda?

I totally agree with the sentiment of collaborating instead of having some sort of confrontational attitude. Her podcast with joerogan was very interesting and I think you can see she has her heart in the right place. She has been taking these substances for a very short time, it is completely normal she has this enthusiasm , maybe without all the details figured out yet, but this an energy that can be used constructively if well directed. If she has some information wrong, we can inform with good facts, and continue contact and collaboration, and in that way we just catalyse each other`s development.

I edited because I changed my mind and didn't want to insult any new reset people, or Amber herself, with my initial reactionary response. I edited after Amber's response, however, so they got to read it as originally written (though I wasn't insulting, of course, I am mindful, in retrospect, of giving something so new the benefit of the doubt). I don't think Amber actually read this thread, but Aubrey did, or maybe he just skimmed it it. Either way, I didn't actually expect him to respond, or Amber, so I think that was cool of them.

Ok thanks for the explanation. I had a moment of paranoid delusion that, after seeing the previous threads involving Ms Lyon, you OP"d in anticipation of the critical disdain that would follow. Sent a link to this thread out to the other site (before anyone got a chance to write a letter voicing concerns) and cleaned your post up. Thereby exasperating any drama while making it look like your shit didn"t stink.

I am relieved that this is not the case but i do think that it is bad form to completely edit posts after the event. I think that we have to take responsibility for some of the crap that we write, rather than just deleting it as if it had never been said.

I'll keep that in mind in the future, I agree.
