I've been trying to read this book called Waterland by Graham Smith because I heard it was beautifully written but I am finding it so incredibly boring. I can't read a single page without wanting to fall asleep. Someone once told me to read a book thirty pages before giving up on it so that is what I will try to do.

I am just going to start checking off suggestions from the Book Bin thread from now on. I forgot how far out I had swam.

Today felt like the first day of spring...it was nice in the sun. Most of the snow has melted now.

This winter was not fit for man nor beast and it's still not fully letting go

Today really did feel like spring. It's a great feeling. I live in the southeast us. It was in the 70s today - shorts and no shirt weather! Looks like the nice weather will be here to stay for a while.

I did some reading today as well. Mainly school stuffs. I sneak some pleasure reads in there when I can.

Tomorrow I think I'll go on a hunt for some edible mushrooms. Any other mushy hunters out there?

Yeah! I'm going hunting tomorrow too! I'll post a picture of anything stupendous that I come across. You do the same!

I Most certainly will! I'm hoping for a few morels. That would be awesome, but I'll settle for anything. I really enjoy finding species that contain amatoxin. It's a respect thing. Such a small innocent organism that holds such a powerful compound. I'm no master identifier, so I usually get all things IDed before consumption.

I tell myself that I go out there with a goal in mind, but usually the goal is just getting our there and taking in some of the wonderful things that happen.




I can only imagine how beautiful a Cali sunset is in person. That photo is gorgeous. It's on my to-do list to get out there. One of these days

I filled two grocery bags, a long sleeve tee shirt, and an old bucket that I found in the woods. Going back tomorrow for round 2. I had to call it quits a little early due to the weight and walk back to the vehicle.

What a bounty!

I can't even begin to describe what emotions went through my mind. I found my first ever morel this past Saturday, while camping. I searched and searched the rest of the trip, but didn't find any more - I found other great things, fossilized donosaur tooth, geodes, crystals, cool plants - but only one morel.

Today, my buddy and I were walking through some woods, heading to my place where I go to synchronize my thoughts. I took him on a different path than I normally go. And I stumbled upon them..... Tons. I started getting excited like a little school girl. My buddy didn't care as much, but he was a good sport about it.
