I don't have a whole lot of time to get into specifics but I will start updating some examples a little later. I'm just curious if anyone else has been overwhelmed by an increase in apocalyptic dreams over the last couple years?

I stopped smoking herb like 3 years ago for 2 years and during that time I really started experiencing the insanity of my dreams on a whole different level. I noticed that i remember my dreams almost every night when i don't medicate before bed. The clarity is unbeleivable.

The weird thing is that i've never had apocalyptic dreams in my life until this particular period. Perhaps it is more of a personality/personal experience type of thing than anything else but i'm seeing everything from dark lords/spirits taking over the earth to all varieties of organic/cyberkinetic alien races wiping us out. All of these dreams involve me attempting to escape their alien/spirit probes. I'll try to upload some examples asap.

Thanks for contributing!

A couple years ago, I had 3 apocalyptic dreams in like a span of a couple weeks.
Each one different. Each one equally terrifying. I was shaken up a bit after these, and was thinking this stuff might really happen, or some kind of doom was approaching. With time I got over them, but will never forget them.

1st. With friends walking in some type of downtown area, with shops etc. And I see a huge Tsunami above the skyline just growing and growing and approaching us. Alert my friends and we all start to run. I could hear it starting to crash and the ground vibrate. Then it crashed down on me as awoke.
Was a bit disturbing.

2nd. Almost the same as above, but with fast moving Lava.
At the time it reached me, I could feel my flesh burning from the back of my body, and melting off.

3rd. Outside in a nature setting and I see huge alien crafts appearing in the sky. All of a sudden the earth had no more gravitiy. I was holding onto plants and grass while my body was floating in the sky. ( maybe being beamed up?)
I was struggling and freaking out. The crafts where blasting stuff on the earth, there was fire and explosions.
I don't remember how that one ended, but once agian I woke up terrified.

I don't remember if I was going through a rough period in life or what it was all about. But having 3 dreams like this almost in a row freaked me out for a while.

I have not had anymore since then.
Curious to hear yours as well, when you have time to share.

Yea countless times, of all sorts (aliens, hyperspace merging with reality, asteroids, planets crashing into us, etc). I had an intense one a couple days ago where the sun and moon danced about the sky like the earth was spinning off its axis or something, which caused massive tidal waves. It wasn't terrifying though. A lot of the time, when these dreams happen, some part of me knows I'm dreaming or that everything is ok. Other times it can truly be terrifying though. I think I almost got used to them over time, and lucid dreaming helped me feel more comfortable in the dream space generally-even when not lucid.

I think this general theme is probably a fairly common thing among those who dream a lot and remember them well. Hard to say what it all means really. Remember you've been dreaming a lot more in the past few years as you said, so naturally you'll have more of them/be more aware of them when they do occur. The dreamworld just gets more and more bizarre the more you dive into it. If you keep a dream journal things start getting even weirder, and you can go back and see more connections and themes. I'm always surprised how much we forget. I think everyone dreams, but we all forget the vast majority of them.

Anyways another factor might have to do with how our ancestors faced a number of cataclysmic events, probably way more than we even realize. I mean consider how we recently found a ton of evidence suggesting that a major meteor hit us just 12,000 or so years ago (probably what initiated the younger dryas). Its looking like those are much more common than previously thought (one hit russia and killed a few dozen people just last year iirc). These are both blinks in evolutionary time to...So much could have happened. Not to mention the ice age; and all the floods, earthquakes (from weight displacement) and other catastrophes that resulted from its melting; and a number of other things we probably went through.

In some ways we're already living in apocalyptic times, just looking around the world at whats happening at the moment. A lot of people seem to feel that in many respects we're "on the brink" so to speak: where we're either going to monumentally fuck up, or wake up.

to be honest, you have to take into consideration that your dreams are getting their shape from the unconscious part of your mind.

It could as well be just fear taking shape in such interesting form like aliens and whatnot.

But the reality we share in waking life is more important i think.

I rarely dream apocalyptic dreams, however, I do have apocalyptic days.

You know that feeling you get right before a really big thunderstorm? Sort of a sense of something really big and powerful that is going to invetiably come. Sort of like a tension in the air?
Sometimes I get that for no reason. It'll be a perfectly ordinary day, but I'll a profound feeling that sometime massive is coming and that, soon, there will be nothing. I can't describe it any better then that.

Of course, the world hasn't yet ended, so I try to just ignore them, but it becomes very hard to focus or stop myself from worrying that maybe this time it's actually the end when I get these feelings.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks for the responses folks. Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. I've had two days of solitary confinement under the warm blankets inside of my house. Just got my 10 year anniversary email at this corporate hell hole that I work for and coincidentally they have been harassing me, intimidating me, targetting me for the last year in attempts to get rid of me. 9 years of PERFECT reviews, culminating in the best review/raise i've ever gotten just last year! 9% raise and a perfect rating. Not to mention I cleared out a whole printer tray when i printed out my "accomplishments" for the last 3 years. I don't have a bachelors, nor do I want one, so i've busted my ASS to get where I am in an environment that changes so rapidly that no one ever even recognizes it. They called me in on monday because someone SUPPOSEDLY heard me make some comment that was not very nice. Got the whole good cop, bad cop routine from HR. They lied to me and tried to get me fired up so I'd flip my shit and tell them all to go to hell... I didn't. I looked at them in the faces like a stone cold pimp. I'm so tired of this. I took vacation the last 2 days to regroup and now i'm back.

And now back to our irregularly scheduled programming...

I'm always having these apocalyptic dreams. Have been for about 2 years now. I rarely have any other dreams honestly. One of the more recent ones was as follows...

I was living on a post apocalyptic earth and people had gone back to the land and nature. The only problem was that in order to fend off the total annihilation of the human race during the apocalypse that had already occurred, we had to trap these leviathan demon lords in the earth inside giant pools of OIL. Haha. The weird thing is that I was the gaurdian of these demons. I had to focus literally ALL of my attention on maintaining the bonds that kept these demon lords in the earth and any break in concentration would result in a sort of mental tug-of-war between me and the strength of these entities. I could feel myself mentally straining to hold them in their puddles of thick black good.

Another involved a race of cylon-like mech-type androids falling from the sky, hitting the earth, standing upright and just walking around vaporizing the shit out of people. I spent most of the time running in this dream.

I've also had several that involved full blown invasion and myself and a small group of others were on the run, trying to avoid remote alien probes. If caught, and i got caught in several of these, the aliens in conjunction with the scumlords at the top of our society, would put us in these concentration camps with other hostile aliens and zombies and all kinds of shit. Basically running tests/experiments on us and how we react in a survival situation. I've even had variations of this where it appeared that the outside world was running along as normal and i'd escape, run into the city, be offered help by some citizen, and next thing you know i'm being dumped back into this concentration camp.

I've also had dreams where a hostile alien force appeared that had weapons that could dematerialize entire crowds of people into dust right in front of my eyes. full detail. I'll never forget seeing tractor trailers and cars being flung over my head as i try to avoid being crushed by them, and watching the others in the crowd get crushed to smithereens.

The general theme is some sort of hostile takeover, followed by my attempting to escape alone or with others. The detail in these dreams is absurd. I could almost feel the souls being snuffed out like candles in the wind or something.

In regards to the meteor thing, Universecannon...

I had a DMT trip a couple years ago that had no visions, no visuals, not like a trip at all. It just floored me to the ground and it was as if there was a world ending asteroid hurling at the earth and somehow it was my fault. The only way to save the earth was to take the brunt of the entire cataclysm onto my own personal soul. And I did. It was HORRIFYING. One of the scariest moments i've had with DMT. That and when the black hole opened up in my living room and started pulling particles into itself.

I also have alot of interest in lucid dreaming and started researching it back when all these dreams started. I do/did keep a dream journal and you are right.... shit gets hella weird... I think that time i spent researching lucid dreaming has been the most influential time in my life in regards to dream recall and interpretation. Also just recognizing the dream space. I've never gained full control by i usually know that i'm dreaming.

Interesting stuff!

I've also had the Alien Apocalypse dream maybe thirty times, always very similar. It usually involves me alone trying to escape to the countryside while saucer or spherical silver/grey floating ships hover over the homes and systematically exterminate the scurrying humans with lightning-like energy rays. I get the impression that the genocide is a result of humanity failing some longterm evaluation by the now uncloaked aliens. There are alot of movies like this so maybe I picked it up there, but its odd because I have a positive attitude towards UFOs in general. Since people have no predators perhaps its something instinctual to dream them up for these scenarios, like mice dreaming of cats.

Theres that theory that dreams are used by the body as training for real life events. Maybe the dreams are apocalypse survival training considering we've been raised in the shadow of nuclear armageddon since WWII. I never see the aliens or learn any lessons from those dreams.

They say that everything in your dreams is a representation of yourself and your life in some way. All the entities, objects, and surroundings are symbol-language expressions of your subconscious.

I have a friend who had been having vivid, terrifying dreams in which they were being possessed by a demon. She had no spiritual foundation that would explain these dreams; she had never belonged to a fire-brimstone religion or anything, but she started to irrationally think she was actually being possessed. When it told her it's name in a dream and she found it on the internet, she was pretty convinced.( Fun fact: turned out to be one of the kabalistic demons of mars!!! I said alot of prayers just in case...). But really, she wasn't the victim of a aeons-old malefic planetary intelligence, she was the victim of her own circumstance. It's hard to see the forest for the trees -when you're in the middle of something, sometimes it's full nature is not apparent. She didn't connect the helpless feeling of Gb being controlled by some dark entity to the conditions of her life that were spinning relentlessly out of control, and that she felt incapable of surmounting. I think she preferred the demon fantasy to the terrible reality, honestly.

I'm not in any way saying your life is out of control, or that you are a fantasist, but trying to illustrate that the dreams probably relate to your life pretty directly. I don't know what the corporation you bust your ass for and then tries to fire you on trumped up charges actually does, but it doesn't sound like there's much love lost there. The aliens and different scenarios where you are either being overrun in some way by, or you yourself are annihilating or controlling some malign force i could see easily corresponding with the faceless corporation. Maybe you feel"chased down" at work, and maybe you take out aggression in the dreams un which you are defeating them. I don't know, that's that's just my two pennies down.

On an aside,I envy you folks who recall with vivid memory your dreams. I'm sure if I quit smoking pot at bedtime (the only time I smoke usually-right about now, lol), I'd remember them better. It's a tradeoff, remembering dreams or being able to actually sleep, for the chance to dream,ha! Even when I have been on extended"weed-fasts", I'm not much of a dream-master. Seems you could probably be well on your way to lucid dreaming, if you're into that kinda thing.
