I'm partially convinced this is D.Cooperi. but not completely. Any experienced botany enthusiasts would be awesome to hear from.

Close, but D.Cooperi have rounder whatever those fat leaf things are called, lol.

They are also slightly shiny, like there is dew on em.

I would also like to know. As it grows everywhere in my state. It is the one plant i can walk down a street and gaurintee to find.

That looks like Carpobrotus Edulis - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpobrotus_edulis

not known to be active and I doubt it is at all as the dried flower and buds are eaten here a lot, they are called sour figs and taste pretty good actually.

So might not get you DMT or other tryps, but would be good for foraging.

SpireCatalyst - this might also be your picture, but I can't tell what the shape of the flower bud is like.

Have a look for delosperma boseranum - Another nexian suggested that Tryptamines have been found in this succulent. He also mentioned that Cooperii wss not the greatest for alks as it varies alot.

Of course alot more work needs to be done with Delosperma's though. Hopefully this prolific succulent proves to be a viable source of the alkaloids we have come to love and respect. ~ Hint, hint any ethnopharmacologists reading this
