I don't mean to dismiss your experience, but I would be careful with getting too ahead of yourself here. Many people including myself have gone into DMT-type states in dreams and even to some degree while "sober" many times, but, I don't think that, even if DMT is involved (which I'd bet it will turn out to be), it would be so simple as these states
always being
solely an endogenous DMT experience. Many peoples dreams aren't very DMT like (at least, not the ones they consciously remember, which could be a small percentage). But regardless, my main point is that there would probably be a number of neural processes and chemicals involved in mediating that experience during REM (or sober for that matter)
It can be an awesome experience though, no doubt. One of the most reliable ways to enter tryptamine/beta-carboline esque states during dreams for me has been to meditate while in a lucid dream. It usually just happens spontaneously though for me during dreams, and is usually like some sort of weird beta-carboline/tryptamine mix than just DMT alone...usually
