Another facinating man..one of the most intersting people I have come across in a long time actaully..this guy is definatily a controvercial figure in the psychedelic community..Ive been facinated with his work for a few years now, but you dont hear much about him..I think that he gets sort of held back by the more conservative entheogenic traditionalists.

Yea, I tried finding anything he had written online, and turned up nada, other than the out of print book. Be very interested to see if a longer exploration would fill in my questions.

Yeah I have been facinated with this guy for years..wanted to read his books but still have not ordered them..I know Jorkest told me a few times now that I need to read his books though. The guy is just soo facinating and on the edge..completely unique.

This is all I can ever find online really..in the "whats new" section there are some interviews with him.

I saw Zoe give a presentation at MindStates and yes, he was controversial. I must be one of those entheogenic traditionalists...Shortly after he started his lecture I went to see the vendors. I loved the MindStates conferences, though.

What is so controversial about Zoe? I don't understand this traditionalist bias.

I'm not sure, Morphane! I remember thinking the talk seemed very disjointed to me, so I wanted to read the books to see if I could draw out a more coherent process.

Are you referring to people who maintain that the traditional practices and administrations are the only way to go with respect to entheogens? If that's what traditionalism is, I really don't get it. To my mind, by those standards, no one should be using a pipe, right? We should all have "incense tents" to inhale the vapors from our piles of burning herbs. At what point does tradition evolve and become nontraditional? I mean, every "traditional" practice or ritual evolved to get to that point and I would claim that that "point" is no more static than the path to get there. Can you explain how proper tradition is determined? If this is not what traditionalism in this sense means, can you explain it to me?

thanks

Neuro-electrical stimulator BT-5... anyone tried it? Not sure if I want to attach electrodes to my brain...
I heard binaural beats are used to help inducing OBEs. Combination with mushrooms or aya might be interesting. There is much to say for more work on combining psychedelics with meditation, yoga etc, good chance it works great as mutual catalysts.

Thanks for the link, although I have reservations about some of his statements Pleased Toying with that anti-motion sickness anti-cholinergic deliriant... no thanks, I know people who were devastated by Datura. Correct me if I'm wrong, I couldn't understand what he said he used - what's his favorite besides Ketamine?
And he doesn't mention DMT, or did I miss it?

I like the way he describes the void, even as a kid I wondered why there is anything at all.

He began using DMT after, or at least talks about it after. His second book "back from the void" is all about his experiments combining ayhausca with salvia quids and mind machines. He works at some ayahuasca retreat now apparently.

i read 'into the void' and loved it....his willingness to really go into some deep reaches inspired me to do some combination experiments of my own (remember last year when i put myself up in a little place north of vancouver and spent a week taking massive doses and combinations of mescaline, salvia, dmt, lsd and cannibis? ) anyways, i love Zoe's commitment to the process!

i wanted to chime in on this one (no pun intended) to put in a HUGE plug for the binaural tone work. about a month or so i broke down and bought a $500 pair of super nice headphones, a headphone amp and a series of all 9 major Hz frequencies from a seriously talented duo called 'source vibrations'.

i listen to them everyday now and have had some PROFOUND experiences. there are certain frequencies and tones that i have heard so many times in hyperspace.....just incredible. i even tried to journey while listening to one and had a pretty spectacular healing experience as a result. i guess what i'm getting at here is that i am a serious fan of the binaural technology that's out there. i recommend it. highly.

i haven't had a chance to get my paws on 'back from the void' yet, but i'd be very interested to give it a read....

isochronic beats are also something to check out...ive used binaural beats while smoking spice and it most certainly changes the character of the experience

I also read "into the void" but I must say that those massive pharmacological doses he applied to himself, like with DXM or synthetical anticholinergics shocked me a bit. OK, he says that he would not recommend this to anyone. And if I remember correctly, he later found his love for real entheogens (like in plant form) and maybe no longer does it. But I know at least one person who got so much inspired by his book, that he also tried some substances mentioned in the book. It ended up disastrous in the case of DXM, where he created really serious problems for the duration of two weeks! I guess he lacks that liver enzyme which decomposes DXM and that put him into hell. So be careful.

But I also really love binaural beats and always wanted to do more work in that area. They are powerful tools for sure.

I've always enjoyed binaural beat when I get myself to sit down and listen to them. I would like to get into a routine of using them and really teach my brain to become entrained easily so the effect is more pronounced when combined with another entheogen. For some reason, I have this feeling that a moderate dose of salvia with binaural beats would be really interesting.

Would be nice if someone digitized a copy of this. Book digitization can be done easily by chopping off the spine and using a scanner that has an automatic page feeder. You can also have someone do this foru you, e.g. ask on mobileread.com.

Ah! I had intentions of bumping this thread to find out if anyone knows the manner in which he left this earth? I'm almost finished with Back From the Void, after recently reading Into the Void. Absolutely love these books, his insights and dedication to researching his consciousness is astounding. It's a true shame that he is no longer amongst us.

Somebody please digitise "Back From The Void" - I would love to read it!

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Smile

I should have included this in my last post.

Services:

http://www.lovetoscanbooks.com/comparing.htm

Or if you prefer to make private arrangements with another individual, ask in the Workshop forum on mobileread.com.

Additional forum: http://www.diybookscanner.org/

Also, your local library may have a copy machine/scanner that has a page feeding mechanism. Once again, the process we're talking about here is cutting the spine off of the book, thus isolating the pages; and putting them into the page feeder as a stack and letting it do all the work. Pictorial in the home page of the first link and here's a video of the process: How to chop and scan a book - YouTube
