Integration IS part of the psychedelic experience. Without it you are missing an essential part of the psychedelic experience.

Like a meal, you have the appetizer, the main course, and then dessert.

Not integrating an experience is like missing the dessert!

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Peace!

You're kind of preaching to the choir here I'm afraid. We're big fans of the importance of integration on The Nexus. There is even a stickied topic somewhere that aims to provide help to people struggling with it.

I personally feel as though integration is key, although sometimes we stress it to the point that it can be a source of anxiety. I remember having a rough mushroom trip a few weeks back and in the hours afterwards, I was exhausted and anxious, struggling to integrate it because "I had to."

Finally, I gave up for the night and it caused me great suffering. A few days went by, I refound my footing and lo-and-behold, the process of integration started to happen on it's own.

Not integrating is bad, but it's also not something you can force, really.

It kind of becomes automatic once you understand the whole idea. In the past I didn't even know. I would trip and it was fun but no more thought was really put into it.

Looking back I see that what I learned from the experience just became integrated into my life on its own. Heavier experiences for me required a little more effort. It was was hard to even wrap my mind around my strongest experience.

It's actually a really crazy thought. We trip, we learn, we apply. If only this was more understood by more people there would be a much different mindset about psychedelics than the current view.
