I have never been able to find a glass pyrex dish with cover till yesterday at hardware store..its about 10in by 5 in square and a perfect extraction dish..[only seven dollars!] The plastic snap on lid isnt compleatly air tight.. but could be made tighter with some plastic rap under it.. Just want to let others know about this if they cant find one as i couldent for so long.. starway6 attached the following image(s): DSC07813.JPG (2,722kb) downloaded 269 time(s).

Yes I agree..and figured out how to keep the napatha smell intact by putting the [level pyrex dish].. inside a reasonably air tight zip lock freezer bag before putting in freezer or somwhere in room! Its nice and flat and should scrape out well..

Be careful with that lid... I have a pyrex bowl with a similar plastic lid and after using it for freeze precipitation, the lid is now a bit warped (still works though).

I would also do a test on reactivity of the lid and solvents you use. Open your Mind ( โถ) Please read my DMT vaping guide ( โถ) Fear is the mind killer "Energy flows where attention goes" [Please review the forum Wiki and FAQ before posting questions]

I have something similar, I notice the naptha smell still escapes.
My remedy for this is to put the whole thing inside two large freezer bags. This seems to keep any smell from escaping into my freezer.

I wanna say the lids on those are #2 HDPE but ever since I melted a plastic turkey baster during my first attempt at extraction I only ever use glassware for the basic stages and anything involving NPS.

I doubt that napatha would melt the lid..but stuff like [exylene ] might melt it?..and is really super stinky and can be smelled a long ways off... I see the thick plastic lids a better barrier than shrink wrap alone...

Naphtha is a solvent and solvents all react to different plastics and rubbers. The fact that you just simply doubt it will react is not an intelligent method of determination. If it is that certain plastic it Will react. Look up naphtha and you can find out the different kinds that you don't want to use. A small splash and that plastic could end up in your product. I found a couple with lids too but mine are red .... the lid doesnt fit snug at all but being designed to hold cake or something u would want to vent any moisture heat if putting it on right away .... my guess the red lid looks a little more sturdy but very loose I was able to evaporate a small amount of alcohol 98% with the lid on but it took way longer ... oh in room temperature havent tried mine in the freezer... I feel @ 1 in the sun All in all is all we r. Nirvana

Best thing to use. I've used them since the beginning when I freeze precip. Yeah pyrex makes a whole line of air tight snap lids for different sized pyrex's. Due to the lids being a type of plastic though, i always evaporated my naphtha pulls down to about a 1/4 or so before sticking in the freezer. That way, little naphtha is left in the dish versus alot. 24 hours, and the lids are totally fine. much love, tat

Yup. Or just evaporate until it starts to get cloudy. You really don't want any naptha to splash up onto the lid and leech nasty crap into the liquid.
<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"
