Hey guys
So I wanted to post this in the ayahausca section, but I don't have enough posts yet.

I was wondering if anyone knew of the scientific reason of why MAOI's cause psychedelic experiences.

If MAO is inhibited in the body, could that mean that endogenous DMT levels would be higher even without administering DMT- thus creating the psychedelic effect?

I ask because I had a second aya session lately and the experience felt and tasted vastly different from the first. Many people did not feel much on one cup, and my visions and interactions with myself felt different. Is there a good guide that explains the differences between ratio's of DMT and MAOI in aya?

Thanks
Joe

If the psychedelic effects of harmalas could be attributed to their mao inhibition then pharmaceutical maois would also have psychedelic effects (which they don't).

Good point.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.
