With the rise of ayahuasca tourism, I have serious concerns of being taken in by a sham shaman in an upcoming trip to Costa Rica. I have spent a lot of time on google, but still not confident that I can sniff out the charlatans. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for how to locate a good experience in Costa Rica?

I do have some good contacts.

all depends if you belive or not in the spiritual shaman guide. Because here since 2 years ago there are allways ceremonies that cost $100 cover. Be sides that if you are like me a true beliver of the bad enteties that life on those dimentions you will like to know more about the chaman who guide you. Sice from the point of view of my espiritual guide some of the chamans are fake chamans and they just want to stole your energy ¨ she said that when people are feeling realy bad and tiere after the ceremoni is becouse of the chaman that stole there energy even so bad that there is a rumor around of someone die a week after the ceremoni even I cant say this is true I do have my believe and I respect them but if you want send me a private msg I give you some links of difrernt chamans that make dfrerent ceremonies the one that I would recomend you is out of the country now so I do not trust on no one eles but there is like 5 more chamans arround and some new ones that are coming each day that they realise more people come enjoy threr magical ayahuasca trip here.

MOD EDIT...READ THE FORUM RULES PLEASE! THERE IS NO DISCUSSION OF BUYNG OR SELLING SCHEDULED SUBSTANCES!LET ALONE DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS ABOUT BUYING THEM.

Have you considered just brewing the plants in your own home like many of us here do? It may seem intimidating but its very easy, and also very rewarding. Plus you can start growing them as well.

If you can handle a solid dose of mushrooms then you will be fine on ayahuasca in your own home.

I've never taken aya there but I've known people with only good things to say about Guaria De Osa in Costa Rica.

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"
